I knew it was padding and not strictly necessary, which is why I said it might still decode correctly. I incorrectly thought it was always present, though, even if the input was a multiple of three bytes long and no padding was needed (and I mostly thought this because all of the messages we’ve sent so far except that have included the padding, which is too unlikely to have happened by chance).

Hm. I'm inclined to think that AndaisQ is either immune to lynching or finds fucking with everyone more entertaining than the rest of the game combined.

I think I read on one of the sites I've been reading about mafia about a role that wins by being lynched. I just looked it up it's the jester. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if that turned out to be AndaisQ's role.

It's possible he may be a Jester, but honestly, I don't mind giving him the win condition if he is. While the comedic sociopathy is very charming and hilarious, it does not make for a good long-term ally in Mafia, even if he's a townie.

Hmm, yeah other than the loss of his comedic sociopathy there doesn't seem to be any good reason not to kill him and you know given that he has said that "random murder is hilarious" killing him could be more than funny enough to make up for the loss of that. So, I vote to kill AndaisQ

There’s the downside of wasting the turn when the jester isn’t a killer, but the upside of having less confusing information sources probably beats that (especially combined with not even knowing he’s the gesture or that there is one), as Aestrix points out.

I'm not going to bother posting pre-night plans any more, I think; it's kind of redundant with post-night results, which I am going to keep doing. And encouraging everyone else to do, regardless of whether or not they have genuine info, in order to help mask the people who do have it.
