Re: Effulgence Mafia Game Thread
I am not aware of a way to subscribe to a thread like that besides checking, but if somebody knows what settings I have to poke to create one I will do it.

Actually, I think the Kappa!characters win here, though it's surprisingly close. Luminosity was published on FanFiction starting July 13th 2010, but Lake of Sky was posted on June 11th that same year.DanielH wrote:NOTE: Golden was chosen because she was the first Effulgence character by publication date, having appeared years prior in Luminosity. I don’t consider other possibilities, like the Joker, to count because 1. Golden is the first character I thought of after Stella, and I already wrote the above paragraph; 2. Most of them (depending on how you count it; Sherlocks-and-Tonies-in-Sunny-worlds are debatable, as is Strat) were written only by other authors before here; and 3. I don’t know when the possibilities in 2. were first published.

The killers might be eager to point fingers or they might try and convince us not to lynch anyone so nobody thinks they are a killer. Or they might not comment until near the end of the day hoping to be overlooked. Or they might wait until people have started accusing each other and back up someone's attempts to have someone lynched. Or they might do any number or other things.modrony wrote:Grrr ;|jalapeno_dude wrote: I have previously suggested modrony as a good first target... ;))
Personally I am inclined to suspect people too eager to point fingers.
That is what I would do if I was a dastardly villain and wanted to efficiently reduce the total amount of goodness in the world.
There has been a couple of those thus far.
The killers know each other. They can safely pick people out cause they know they won't hit a friendly.
We can't do that.
I don't think we yet have enough evidence to make a good guess of who the killer is so I vote: no lynch

Modrony, how do you know this? I don't see this stated in the opening post or the previous thread...modrony wrote:The killers know each other. They can safely pick people out cause they know they won't hit a friendly.

Regarding killing on this first day of gloom and darkness and grief and anguish and sorrow (too much? just one more...) and doldrums(?)*: Although not trying to lynch anyone immediately means we might get a few less tries to get it right, it also means that we get more information with which to deliberate. I don't think it's a good idea to condemn anyone when we really have no evidence pointing any whichever way!
Besides, {dons rose-coloured glasses and 'World's Biggest Optimist' hat} as has already been pointed out, perhaps it was merely a horrible accident or maybe the killer feels really bad about ending the life of such a soft, fluffy, um... cuddly? huggable? and adorable! being. Maybe if we give them some time, they'll come forward and admit to their wrongdoing and ask us for forgiveness amidst tearful apologies... Or maybe just secretly swear off all violence going forward and never harm another being - if we only give them a chance!
@Daniel
Well now I can't stay mad at you - you're being all nice!** Then again, the {ahem}
threat of misremembering your name was more about making excuses in advance, because once you pointed out the possibility, it seemed certain I'd make the mistake at some point.
I hope my long-windedness doesn't get frustrating to read, but I swear if I try to write more then a couple sentences I get into that ridiculous, wordy tone and it's just too much fun to stop..
*Oh, Thesaurus, you teach me something new every... few months?
**And more importantly - footnote buddies! High-five!

Re: Effulgence Mafia Game Thread
phpBB has a built in "subscribe to thread" capability (and you can see that there's a page for it in the User Control Panel), but the button to do so appears to be missing. Googling this seems to indicate that it's a permissions issue--see here.Alicorn wrote:I am not aware of a way to subscribe to a thread like that besides checking, but if somebody knows what settings I have to poke to create one I will do it.

Hallo! I am AndaisQ, and I have now begun existing in this location. You may know me by my stable of morally questionable and frequently naked OCs.
I vote no lynch, because while mistakenly killing random people is hilarious, it is not particularly conducive to the goals of the collective.

It's how the game usually works.jalapeno_dude wrote:Modrony, how do you know this? I don't see this stated in the opening post or the previous thread...modrony wrote:The killers know each other. They can safely pick people out cause they know they won't hit a friendly.
We can't do that.
Could be different here, but I doubt it.
Bad guys use the night-time to kill one of us and they can't do that without knowing each other, can they?
Footnotes are making me sad today

Re: Effulgence Mafia Game Thread
I checked both places it suggested looking for the permissions and as far as the control panel toggles suggest, you ought to already be able to do it. I'm confused, y'all.
