Re: Effulgence Mafia Game Thread
Hi, I like running around in a panic (like a headless chicken) instead of doing something productive when things are going wrong. Because it's fun. Shut up.
Also I was preparing a whole rant at Daniel for singling me out, but I see he has moved on for now, so I'll rather avoid attracting attention by being overly aggressive/defensive*... Though fair warning - if I end up calling you David it's only because I'm being petty. Because baseless accusations against my person annoy me. Therefore I will attempt to annoy you back. That is my evil plan and it will surely succeed. Muha. MWuHaHa. MWUHAHAHAHA!1!!1one!!!** (ahem) Where was I?
So long as I'm introducing myself, I also like to be kind of ridiculous at times - like when I'm participating in online forum games in relative anonymity (who knew?***).
Also I, too, vote no lynch. And sorry for any punctuation mistakes - it was one part of the English language I could never grasp, so I usually just put any commas wherever it seems to make sense... Which sounds, like, a horrible, way to use, language... Oh, well...
*Instead, I'll attract attention by pointing out my wish to be aggressive/defensive
**Also, by pretending to be evil
***Hint: not me.****
****Also, I seem to like adding unnecessary footnotes that are not half as witty as they'd like to be. I blame sir PTerry, the one and only deity I acknowledge and worship. He, whose footnotes are a wonder beyond mere human imagination!

Hi everyone. I'm jalapeno_dude. The origin of my name is complicated (and involves Neopets, a long time ago).
Are we sure that Cricket's death was actually murder? Perhaps we should wait for a qualified investigator or a forensics report?
Also, I note that modrony's act of blasphemy has already angered the gods. If we were to lynch somebody...and I'm not suggesting that we should, but just in case...maybe we should consider picking them as our first [s]innocent victim[/s] extremely justified act of retribution? That way, even if they're not the murderer (and right now we're not even sure there is a murderer, their (extremely hypothetical) death might at least appease the angry gods.
EDIT: Boo, no strikethrough BBcode on this forum?

if there aren't wishcoins is there anyone who can talk to Cricket's ghost?
if we are introducing ourselves then we are a collection of fish that are swimming together in a group. we don't seem to be missing any individual fishes.

There are 20 people in this game. *is suddenly extremely suspicious of Daniel*DanielH wrote:Yeah, probably, seeing as there are nineteen people who could have done it, and one-ninteenth is less than 50%.

Obviously he was excluding himself as a suspect, and assuming any reader would exclude themselves as a suspect.jalapeno_dude wrote:There are 20 people in this game. *is suddenly extremely suspicious of Daniel*DanielH wrote:Yeah, probably, seeing as there are nineteen people who could have done it, and one-ninteenth is less than 50%.
Edit: That said, there's probably more than one killer, given the typical setup for this sort of game, so the statement's still off.

Re: Effulgence Mafia Game Thread
Hi! I'm Kel! I do Kellish things!
I would like to vote for no lynching, for today, because we don't have anywhere near enough information to actually figure out who did it, and I'd really rather avoid lynching random non-murderers.
Does anyone have any information they would like to share about anything relating to the murder of Cricket?

I’m sorry about singling you out. There’s not much to go on; you had only circumstantial evidence against you, but it was more than anybody else. I thought somebody had to die. If nobody has to die except Cricket, then that is better than Cricket and somebody else dying. It was probably just a one-off crime and not anything to worry about. Right?
Also, any annoyance you may have so far attempted to do to me is overridden by your using a large quantity of footnotes. I think footnotes are great, but I am in the habit of not using them as much as I like because most people seem to disagree.
@Thatwasademo:
OOC: I am honestly unsure whether your questions are in- or out-of-character and whether you truly don’t know. Given that the theme of this game is clear, and that you seemed to consider Alicorn a highly entertaining person when you signed up for the forum, I’ll assume it’s just an in-character lack of knowledge. If you really do not get the Effulgence references and would like to, I can PM you explanations (but of course not game-related content); if it’s in-character, then by all means continue.
@modrony
You are of course correct, in the way a lot of people use probability. I was using probability in what is probably the second-most-common way of thinking about it, where you apply the abstract mathematical laws to your own knowledge instead of hypothetical collections of future events. In that mapping of the concept of probability onto the real world, probability is of utmost importance. As Thatwasademo pointed out, my number was off because I assumed that the murder of Cricket was a single-person job, and as jalapeno_dude pointed out, it was off because I assumed it was a murder at all.
