Ok, I had not realized it was “all”. I thought it was just “many”. I suppose that makes sense, though. I’m guessing the reservoir doesn’t count in that list, because it’s sentient but not sapient? Is the origin of non-dragon Elcenian sapients common knowledge among dragons, or only among dragons like Kaylo?

I reread the Admin-in-Elcenia thread just now to look up something about the reservoir, and I was surprised to see Kaylo say “that's not broken and doesn't require fixing” about dragon alternate form aging. It’s true, but there are so many things about the species that are broken and do require fixing that it’s odd to see one that isn’t pointed out.

The reservoir is sort of sapient, it's just incredibly dumb, but I wasn't counting it because it's not really a species. Dragons all learn the thing sometime before they might become likely to go experiment with it themselves, since they're not supposed to do that.

Are dragons as a group better at keeping secrets than I’d expect, or is that academically available knowledge that just isn’t common knowledge? Either option would be interesting.

Where did dragons come from? Based on everything else about Elcenia, I doubt they evolved in the standard sense, but I’m having trouble thinking of plausible alternative hypotheses.

Dragons as a group have been pretty effective at keeping a couple secrets.

Dragons descend from drakes. Evolution of sapients in general is fast and weird in Elcenia because the reservoir cares what you want.

My call would be that the reservoir might not be smart enough to be a BEE, but I'd let Alicorn decide whether or not it qualified if an Elcenia world was going to have a BEE.

If Elcenia was going to have a BEE the reservoir would be a reasonable choice but it wouldn't know what to do with this trait. I don't think the concept of BEEs exactly applies to Elcenia; it's an Effulgence thing.

I'm rereading Elcenia to prepare for the new chapters Alicorn promised us ( ;) ), and I noticed that in Chapter 27 of Summons Keo says she can't dull channeling sting. Why is that? Presumably it has something to do with an interaction with the reservoir?

It doesn't technically have to do with an interaction with the reservoir; the reservoir doesn't, like, want people to feel channeling sting. Keo just can't do that specific thing because I forget why probably it would have been too convenient.
