Dragons and unicorns died in the war? Either Jenny misspoke or the war was somewhat different here. Do sphinxes exist but managed to avoid warfare extinction, just like every other critter type?

I totally misspoke. I blame Jenny it's all her fault.

When I read that I figured it just meant that sphinxes had been replaced with unicorns in the war backstory. I take from Marri’s reaction that something else is planned.

I take from Marri’s reaction that sphinxes were the nondragon combatants but Jenny misspoke (presumably in-story because you can’t find unicorns either, and out-of-story because Marri made the mistake). I also expect that if I’d noticed and asked about it between 6:25 and 6:27 PST (the times of that comment and the one after) and Marri noticed, Jenny would not have made that mistake, but it’s impossible to edit replied-to comments.

We have not discussed if and where unicorns would exist. My reaction meant nothing particularly more significant than "it was late and I was annoyed at myself for screwing up something that's kinda fundamental to the world". What plot we currently have planned (since this is me, it's not a huge amount) does not presently include the sphinxes.

Because I only see Bradley James in Merlin, it’s odd seeing Ari talking openly about being a wizard.

That is the right PB, right? I’m not getting a false positive with my complete inability to accurately recognize faces most of the time? If I am, it’s still weird because that’s who I see it as.

He was Arthur Pendragon in Merlin, yeah.

I knew he was Arthur; I was less certain he's Ari Kaltenbaum. I sometimes think I recognize somebody when I don't, and I wasn't sure that wasn't happening. Now that I see some of the icons are wearing armour similar to Arthur's, it seems less likely I was wrong.

He is Ari, yes. His face has just the right balance of "big happy puppy-man" and "could probably destroy you" that I was looking for.
