Re: Elcenia Spoilers from the Chalk thread
Did dragons ever "created" races on purpose? Maybe even use fertilization spells?
The Arvi Progenitor broke any law? And is going to be punished by the dragon council?

Re: Elcenia Spoilers from the Chalk thread
In a sense, they're all deliberate. Dragons only have children when they mean to. (Spells to accomplish the task were not invented before leonines, the most recent before arvi, were started, so they have never been involved.) The arvi's grandfather is definitely in trouble with the council once caught.
Re: Elcenia Spoilers from the Chalk thread
I’m still confused about how thudias and parunias can turn into leonines or arvi. I thought parunias were basically dragons and thudias were basically human/elves/whatever with a tiny bit of extra magic. Do the standard crossbreeds we’ve seen only exist with already-sentient species?
Unless I misunderstand something about the creation of new species (which I infer is just “dragon adopts animal form, has sex with relevant animals, and decides to have kids” + time and incest), it seems odd that leonines would be bipedal when neither lions nor dragons are.
Also, I’m now wondering at what point a leonine, arvi, etc counts as a separate species for dragon form purposes. When can a stuck (nonblue) dragon adopt such a form, if ever?

I think in this world all races including humans are actually a result of dragon having offspring with animals. Not sure why that results in bipedal-lions, but the mechanism seems consistent enough.DanielH wrote:I’m still confused about how thudias and parunias can turn into leonines or arvi. Re: Elcenia Spoilers from the Chalk thread
Dragons who have kids with sapients get thudias and parunias. Dragons who have kids with non-sapients get novel species which are neither of those, which will tend strongly to have hands even if this involves radical rearrangement of body plan (skyfolk, for instance, have hands in addition to wings even though they came from assorted birds). As soon as the first ones are born dragons may adopt them as a form.

Elcenia dragons really are excessively magical.
Re: Elcenia Spoilers from the Chalk thread
Since there are differences in dragon color groups besides color and magic, could a dragonish adopt a form of a differently-colored dragon? This seems like something red-group shrens would do if so, and since they don’t I’m guessing they can’t or they’re still infectious in such a form.
