My brain did a thing.
I want to name it something better than this thread title but I'm not sure what. XD

Re: Yet Another Horrifying Kappa Setting
Okay, maybe I am numb after stuff like the painful-rose magical girls, but that doesnt sound that bad.
What exactly prayets can do? How does one become god?

Re: Yet Another Horrifying Kappa Setting
The exact effects of prayers weren't specified in the dream, but the process of becoming a god was implied to be something that other people do to you as opposed to something you do for yourself, and also implied to be pretty unpleasant.
Re: Yet Another Horrifying Kappa Setting
I'd suggest an alchemical jargon-theme, with transmutation of souls or some such.

In the dream it was more like, in order to make someone a god, you had to capture their soul - I reference "god-chains" in the linked post for a reason. There was an actual (symbolic) scene where a goddess was wandering around with magic chains on that represented her captured divinity.
