Antonia Thomas, Kat Graham, and Rihanna all seem pretty good... Antonia Thomas wins on hair but she doesn't seem to smile as much or as cutely as the other two. Decisions, decisions...

Alicorn: Can you describe what about a face makes it look Bellish to you? I would be happy to look for possible altrace boybells but I don't have a good sense of the criteria (the various extant Bells do not bear much similarity to me).

Unrelatedly - we need a facecast for Bothari. Bothari is described variously as "hatchet-faced", "phenomenally ugly", and "like an overbred borzoi"; I don't remember any other descriptions offhand.

The ability to raise one eyebrow is extremely important (I almost rejected Karen David because she is rarely shown doing it). Bells have tallish oval faces and reasonably chinny chins and jaws that do that... thing... plus Ineffable Bell Quality plus me personally thinking they are cute. Also, Kristen Stewart is the template Bell appearance - Daniel Henney manages to look reasonably well like a male Jung Ryeo Won and like an Asian Daniel Sharman to me at the same time, which is super impressive, but he doesn't in so doing pop out as Kristen Stewart-like at all (I'd go with him if I had some kind of weird emergency, but in the absence of one I dither). They have to appear unbespectacled and in hair arrangements that a Bell might wear (I cheat with this, a little - black girl Bells prefer microbraids and I've never seen Sonequa Martin-Green in them - but something like facial hair is more of a problem because it changes the apparent shape of the entire face. I'm still trying to convince myself that I should just go ahead and allow B.J. Britt in spite of beard and come up with some explanation for why that would happen.)

For a possible explanation for Britt: Maintaining a slight beard is significantly less work than remaining clean-shaven (in my experience). Which could be a natural extension of the default-clothes, low-maintenance appearance choices Bells favor.

I have to explain why he'd do that when Daniels Sharman don't, though.

Fair point.
Hmm, I remember hearing at some point that shaving has a tendency to give some black men a painful skin condition... Yup, it's a thing. Pseudofolliculitis barbae.
