Gemini Renée and Charlie are having mildly awkward thoughts but are both behaving non-awkwardly on an outward level.
No Swan child has ever been interested in setting up either parent with anybody on the grounds that they would find this weird and gross, although Stella thinks it's cute that her Charlie might like Hilary.

Wacky adventures to Scandinavia \o/Aestrix wrote:Renée/Veron is a - maybe. Verons are pretty okay with being moved around where ever, and are reasonably good at reading people. He'd never be as adventurous as Renée, but he'd be perfectly fine with going on wacky adventures to Scandinavia or something.
Charlie doesn't come off as personally attached to "the system" to me, it is just a (relatively) safe way to help people.Aestrix wrote:Charlie/Veron probably wouldn't work. Veron's quietly pretty jaded, and while he is willing to work with and even trust cops on a personal level, he does not believe in the overall system. I think this would cause problems, especially later down the road.
Why would Gemini-Renée get back to her Charlie?Alicorn wrote:I am vaguely intrigued by Renée/Veron. But of the worlds we have, Chamomile's Ranata is still married to her Charlie, Hex doesn't have a Veron, Tayane's Renée is dead and not slated to be fetched up very soon, same with Medallion's - although I guess that one will be retrieved soonish and there's a Veron around and she didn't marry a Phil first... - and I think Limboite Renée from Inferno would find the age difference problematic, and Gemini's has opportunity but would feel awkward about it while actively living in Charlie's house everybody on top of each other (I'm actually considering having that one get back with her Charlie), Ravel's is still married, the one in Basket's world is definitely going to marry a Phil, and the one in Midnight, when fetched, will go back to her Charlie - I guess Treasury also allows it.
Why are you intrigued with Renée/Veron?
Medallion!Renée sounds more... motivated-able, because Veron is already aware of magic. Treasury!Renée could go anyway, but with less motivation.Alicorn wrote:So our best options for this are Medallion and Treasury.

Re: Prurient Fascinations
Gemini Renée/Charlie might happen again because the conditions under which the pairing divorces are: "Being married to Charlie is the reason Renée lives in a boring town, and there are no strong commitment factors afoot". Renée is now living in Forks again for the time being without being married to Charlie, so the "is the reason" condition is eroding. They do not divorce if she lives somewhere boring for other reasons (e.g. Atlantis), if they live somewhere interesting and/or of her choice (e.g. Samaria), or if there are strong commitment factors (e.g. Thilanushinyel).
Renée/Veron sounds loosely plausible and we haven't tried it yet so it could be fun.

I see (divorce is even a thing in Samaria?), I assumed that Ranata and Charlie (Alethia and Chamomile) Sort-of-worked because she has easy means to travel and is likely to outlive Charlie (and therefore wouldn't be married to him).Alicorn wrote:Gemini Renée/Charlie might happen again because the conditions under which the pairing divorces are: "Being married to Charlie is the reason Renée lives in a boring town, and there are no strong commitment factors afoot". I now vaguely curious to see Flicker being flippant-sort-of-against Renée/Charlie getting together. Sounds amusing.
Seeing the children reactions should be worth it, and seeing the alternate universes counterpart will make it worth it, at least for me as a reader ^_^Alicorn wrote:Renée/Veron sounds loosely plausible and we haven't tried it yet so it could be fun.

When Bell's that are in worlds where they are lesbians, Gemini, and have realised this fact before the story starts and have no need to hack themselves ala Shell, when/how do they realise it and come out to their families? Was there any awkwardness involved?

Re: Prurient Fascinations
I think Alicorn asnwered that somewhere, but can't remember where, only that non-cishetero bells tend to realize it at age of 14, both parents are accepting with Charlie being a little more confused but not making any fuss. Alicorn clearly has better details.Anya wrote:When Bell's that are in worlds where they are lesbians, Gemini, and have realised this fact before the story starts and have no need to hack themselves ala Shell, when/how do they realise it and come out to their families? Now I am curious about this, but with Adarins and Zevis.

14 is correct. They have inklings earlier but are reluctant to actually go kiss people and check that way so they reserve judgment and formal coming out until they're quite sure via introspection alone. Their parents are fine about it. (In Standard Backstory conditions and comparable ones - Etty's parentals are weird about it and she didn't tell her dad until after he'd died and been resurrected.)

Okay, how about the two other swan kids? having a Bell helps with realizing queerness?Alicorn wrote:14 is correct. Also, Bells don't care about face-body-looks-in-general or that is just ignored for the sake of love-interest compatibility? Alexes and Sophs are different?

Re: Prurient Fascinations
Having a Bell doesn't help Alexes or Sophs notice if they are queer, no. For Alexes it would depend a lot on what kind of queer and what circumstances and what vocabulary they have to talk about their experiences. For a Soph, she'd notice pretty early if she were gay but might take a while if she were bi.
Bells are not immune to their partners' looks, with face more important than body, but it is not the be-all end-all. As it happens no Bells are dating anybody who I don't personally find pretty cute, so that's probably a reasonable proxy for "one person's taste can encompass all these people". Alexes are shallower, Sophs less shallow.

In the Prime sandbox... How Kiri internally reacted to discovering that Aleko had sex with Leo (under a spell no less)? This is the kind of things the Swan siblings share?
