Speculation on the past

This is a mirror image of the speculation on the future thread. In this thread, we will speculate on backstories of characters that have not been hammered out. What would Bella's favourite toy have been when she was two? What was Charlie like as a young man? What did Renee major in in college? Here we will speculate on these and other -- more clever than I am capable of producing at the moment -- things about the histories of the characters and the little details that shaped who they became or how they became who they are today.

Female Bells look forward to getting their first periods. Starting around age 10 or so, they check multiple times a day to see if this milestone towards adulthood has arrived yet.

Renées major in education; that's how they become kindergarten teachers. Bells are largely indifferent to menstruation and don't check for things they anticipate to take as many as several years to show up multiple times a day.

I thought "milestone on the way to having grown up power" might be important to them. guess it's not as important as all that for them.

(about Renee) oh, i guess that makes sense. i didn't realise kindergarten teaching required a degree in education. it is good that it does, though.

Addy is an Adarin.
After a long backstory involving plenty of unspecified Terrible Things, the death of her twin, possibly miscellaneous mind control, and Chelsea, Addy lost most of the things that make the template awesome. Now all she cares about is being a magic geek because that's all she has left of her old identity.

Personally I don't see an Adarin ever having a magic-copying power when in a 'magic fits personality' setting. So as entertaining as it would be to have an Addy be an Adarin after copious amounts of time and trauma and Chelsea - not really viable.

This isn't exactly a speculation, because I am pretty damn certain that at least Zevi slept with at least one of Cypress's "potential lovers"
