Free Hugo Nominees

Post by PlainDealingVillain »

Three of the five novelettes nominated for a Hugo are available free online (legally, even!). And they're all very good.

The Lady Astronaut of Mars sent a meteorite into the State of the Union and the rainbow to Mars.

The Waiting Stars is about a transhumanist future where some cultures treat their ships as family in a very literal sense.

And The Truth of Fact, The Truth of Feeling is an long, highly personal op-ed from the future. I haven't felt a near-future this evocatively realized since I read Rainbows End.

And some credit to The Alexandrian, a pretty cool blog about roleplaying, theater, and other things, without which I would not have found these.

Heh, I read the Alexandrian's post on this yesterday and currently have these exact links open in tabs in my browser as a result. It's a small internet. ;)
