The foundation does a lot of horrible things, some of them with little real justification. The fate of Iris is a canonical jerkish!SCP Foundation example. 085 is less a case of SCP Foundation being horrible but also a case where intervention might come quickly, since she seems to hope and dream for a better future a lot.
I think the biggest risk is that the Foundation do something unwise with one of their half-tame SCPs trying to hunt Teah down or neutralize him, fearing he is worse. Would Teah trump all SCPs even in their area of specialty? Could he remember the nature of SCP-055 for example?

Re: Teah And SCPs
Teah's nature is that he can make pretty much arbitrary alterations to the universe he occupies and anything in it, limited only by time, available knowledge, and his willingness to experiment to find the right interventions. (This is why he's iffy on some brain-related things; that's one of the only arenas where he really doesn't want to accidentally fuck something up, so he has to go slow and think it through and try things very carefully and in some cases wait until somebody else makes the breakthroughs and he can read over their shoulder.) (The time limitation is why he doesn't resurrect very often - in most universes with a sizeable population, and definitely after he got going, the demand for resurrections would outpace his capacity fast enough and thoroughly enough that he would never catch up.)
It seems like, by implication, people can understand 055 while they are still looking at it. So if, say, somebody were to wish that they could remember what 055 is like, Teah would snag the prayer and go look at 055, and he would probably be able to alter its nature to let more people know what it is. Or maybe just so he could remember what it is, if he decided that 055 was best served by the Foundation continuing to mostly forget about it - he'd want to be able to remember because otherwise he might waste time answering the same prayer over and over again.
Notably, the only way to get a Teah out of a universe once he's in it is to find his mortal form and move it to a different universe. You can also eradicate or sterilize all sapient life, but he'll still be there in his between-lives dormant state, and if people start happening again down the line he'll incarnate in the first Joker-suitable one. And, Jokers being Jokers, he is resistant to most forms of mindfucky shit - 055's forget-me-lots field happens not to be the kind of mindfucky shit he's naturally resistant to, but in general, "use mindfucky shit" is not a feasible way to control or direct him.
I have toyed with the notion of what happens if you put a Teah-body through 914 on one of the refinement settings. I suspect what comes out is a more effective Teah. You definitely don't get a less effective Teah, and you definitely do get something that is still a Joker with extremely helpful tendencies.

I'm not convinced that 914 is that safe/reliable. There was one test where they put in a fire extinguisher and got out a flashlight-like thing whose beam suppressed all oxidation, which was approximately-instantly lethal to any humans caught in the beam. Teah could easily turn into a jar of jellybeans that grant wishes when eaten, or a mint Nathaniel, or something.
Oh, and Iris's fate isn't all that unjustified. They're keeping her out of the hands of people who would abuse her powers to the detriment of humanity. Ruining one person's life is a reasonable price to pay to prevent the kinds of things that could happen if, say, North Korea got hold of her.

I have no opinion on the safety of 914; it's just in Teah's nature that you can't make him any less than Teah. His is an atomic divinity.

I think the thing that counted as unjustified was the part where they were trying to coerce her into assassinating people.Lambda wrote:Oh, and Iris's fate isn't all that unjustified. Yeah. They tried to make her assassinate people, and when she said no, they were like "meh, lock her up and throw away the key". Teah is not impressed.

Re: Teah And SCPs
I should've answered to this earlier: I know that the Foundation can't do anything to stop Teah, but I am certain there will be a good chunk that will be paranoid about it for years, the Scp-verse simply fosters this kinds of things.
And now I really wishing to see Teah solving the SCPs problems, specially 085 >.>

Re: Teah And SCPs
Teah's solution to Cassy would be interesting. He might just give her the ability to see into and out of drawings and move in and out of them at will. (By 'see into' I mean that besides the ordinary visual experience of looking at a picture, she could also see what the picture would be like for her to walk around in.)
