........I'm really not sure how that didn't occur to me. But narrative and personality-wise, I think Wendy is a better fit? If Tink were the Bell, who would be the Wendy?

Re: Effulgence Fandom Ideas
not to mention that fairies (if I remember correctly) in the Peter Pan verse live somewhere on the scale of a few weeks.
the Wendy could be an Elspeth? I guess she'd be a little closer to a Jane, just by life circumstances?

For the Wendy to be an Elspeth, the Bell would be Mary Darling, not Tinker Bell, unless I have seriously misremembered something about Peter Pan...? o_O
Re: Effulgence Fandom Ideas
That actually sounds really cool! The Elspeth!Wendy.
I'm always up for more Elspeth.

I'm not sure whether I'd rather see Wendy be a Bell or an Elspeth, but I am definitely always up for more Elspeth. Elspeth is great and I miss her.
Oh man, what time period is Edward canonically from? It would be neat to see a Bell and an Edward who were from his time, not hers. Though I'm really struggling to see a Bell who is unambitious enough to just be a housewife, so I am curious what a Bell in those circumstances would do to end up with a Wendy!Elspeth daughter.
ETA: Also I kinda want to see a Bell enact something like Wendy does in S. J. Tucker's Wendy Trilogy (songs one, two, and three) and while I can see a Bell might potentially take over Hook's ship and crew it with Lost Girls if it helps her with her greater goals, I don't really see an Elspeth doing that. But Elspeth would really suit the more canonical surrogate-mother-to-Peter-Pan Wendy role, and I want more Elspeth. I'm so torn about which I want to see, argh!

Hmmm, but would a Cam make growing up seem dreary enough and treat his child distantly enough that Neverland seemed attractive? I could see an Edward being dreary and distant, but Bells have generally been active parents.Bluelantern wrote:Genderswap them both?
I admit that a genderswapped Edward and Bell pair sounds otherwise like something I would want to see, though. How would that courtship even go?

I am really reluctant to do a girl Edward because I think the way I write Edward psychology would have Unfortunate Implications in a female version. In a perfect world I could just do it, exactly the same, but in reality I fear being attacked for that kind of thing and sometimes that affects what I write.

Re: Effulgence Fandom Ideas
I am unclear what the Unfortunate Implications would be, but of course I'll defer to you on what you feel comfortable with writing. I'm actually not terribly eager to actually see much girl!Edward per se - Edward has always been a pretty boring character to me - I'm mostly just curious about how a genderswapped Bell and Edward would interact (and how a human Edward would entice a Bell), and I could probably satisfy that curiosity by asking in one of the template threads or something. And I still suspect that a male Edward would serve the George Darling role better than a male Bell would, in terms of both being someone who makes growing up seem undesirable and as the one of the two who would be less approving of fantasies of Peter Pan and Neverland, so none of my hopes are dashed just yet.
