Re: The Glowfic Constellation
Now that I know what gallery tags are I am cool with them, they would solve my problem

Apparently I failed to explain gallery tags and it wasn't sufficiently clear. Gallery tags would go on galleries, to group them together. A way they could solve this problem is to implement them and then allow them to be in the "galleries" box for characters. This would mean galleries can still be used to split things up as before, but you can group all of a facecast or all of a template or such into a tag and put it on your characters as necessary.

How difficult is it to migrate threads from Dreamwidth to the Constellation, and are you willing to do it at the request of people who are not the author? I would like to re-read some of the barring emergencies threads and would prefer not to have to do it through Dreamwidth, although despite its branching nature
Also, I would like to request you re-visit response streaming or something at some point; the 100-per-page limit is more annoying than the 500-per-page one.
view=flat
does work for it.Also, I would like to request you re-visit response streaming or something at some point; the 100-per-page limit is more annoying than the 500-per-page one.

Re: The Glowfic Constellation
It's really easy except for threads which, like that, have branches. For those it is not done.
Re: The Glowfic Constellation
I was imagining it could be imported as three threads with the same top post.
I see the import of clannish from Incandescence was less than ideal, but that interleaving would theoretically work for barring emergencies because none of the three branches overlap in when they were written (the last Max post is before the first elementals post; the last elementals post is before the first Ann and Sabrina one).

It's I think easily doable to import it interleaved, so that post could be done, but the current scrape code won't be able to do what you suggest in the first paragraph for other posts without modifications. (We haven't embedded my old scraper code into it, nor have we set up that handling, though that seems like a good idea.)

Bug report: In flat mode, all of the Room of Requirement threads except “swish and flick” and “the power that’s inside” only show the top-level post; I am on my phone which itself has limited RAM so I didn’t verify that those two had correct flat modes, just that they had more than one post.
This might or might not be related to them having been split out of a long thread by an admin. Depending on how that was done, it might explain why “swish and flick”, the first post, is an exception; either way I don’t know why “the power that’s inside” is.
If you need to regenerate those manually, it would be personally convenient for me if you started at “read/write memory” and the one following it, but if for any reason that’s inconvenient it’s not worth bothering with.

Re: The Glowfic Constellation
Your related theory is probably right, and may in fact mean that the entire flat post for everything is stored in the one swish and flick post; I'll reenqueue the rest when I have a minute.
Re: The Glowfic Constellation
I am fairly sure I didn’t see Imperial Permissions on the daily report a week ago, at least not marked with a new sign; maybe I’m unobservant, but is there a way to check if it was there? I also did not get a notification about it then despite Alicorn being a favorite author. Was it perhaps hidden for the first day? Either way, it is listed on the correct report with a new sign now.
Is it possible to send notifications and mark threads as new in the report when they are unhidden? This is my primary means of finding new threads, and if not all the threads go through it then it isn’t nearly as useful for that purpose.
It would also be very useful to have an “only new threads” section to the website daily reports like in the old forum ones.

Re: The Glowfic Constellation
It was hidden. Part of the problem with sending notifications when things are unhidden is what to do if they are then rehidden and unhidden. (Presumably the notification should disappear when rehidden? Then do you get another when it's unhidden? What happens if an author accidentally hides then unhides a post, do we just accept they may accidentally send people notifications at weird times and also shove their post into the "new" section of the report at will?)
"Only new threads" box on the report has been vaguely on the list for a while, not sure when we'll get to it – see the thing about reports page improvements.
