An elemental's halo is a special effect or physical manifestation that surrounds the elemental's body, e.g. a Fire's halo is "being covered in fire".

iirc the reasons were that enchanter auras from Reverie were also becoming a big thing around that time and we didn't want to overload the term, but I could be misremembering
