Kappa is correct, parunias can be unusuals and uniques just like any other dragon. Also, while a hatched shren won't ever be either, an infected shren would not lose their unusual or unique powers.

Anyway it's usually pretty clear early on by how well they fly or breathe fire or whatever.

Blues probably always try to become a quarter-something as one of their first ten forms. This won’t waste a form because if it works, the number of forms available is unlimited.

I was getting confused with parunias not occuring if there wasn’t enough magic for them, so never being born shrens.

What happens if a bunch of people have half-dragon children when the reservoir is empty? Will there mysteriously-dying thudias?

Those aren't necessarily obvious till they're twenty.

The reservoir objects to being too epmty to handle thudias and an old dragon would die.

Not *the* reservoir, the dragon-magic reservoir. The one that is always almost empty, and if there isn’t enough magic in it a dragon baby will hatch without magic and then die in a month, and if there is only slightly too little they’ll hatch a shren.

Not the wizardry reservoir which is big and not running out.
