I also want notification of upthread updates. When Silmaril invented worldleapers, they tried summoning in the new world they discovered, and it worked. Later I was reading some updated part and they said it didn’t work, and it turned out there had been upstream edits retconning summoning working, with no notification for that.

This is obviously much better than the Dreamwidth way of not allowing upstream edits, but at least for retcons like this I’d prefer to have been notified. I don’t think the Constellation currently supports this or that it would be easy or currently worthwhile to add, but just putting that out there since the topic came up.

Already on the list (issue #35), under "[Ability to m]ark edits significant for 'unread' purposes (such that users have to jump back to reread it)".

Two search-related suggestions:

1. It looks to me like neither the posts/search or replies/search page will let you find content that happens to be in the top-level post of a thread. Ideally I would like both for there to be a Content field on the posts/search page (in addition to the Subject field), and for the replies/search field to also search for content in top-level posts. But it should certainly be searchable in at least one of these places.
2. Right now the posts/search page can search post subjects ('post-title' in the HTML). It would also be useful to be able to search post description fields ('post-subheader' in the HTML).

Did the at_id parameter stop working recently?

I love the new character description boxes! I'm going to town using them.

How hard would it be to do one or both of: (a) making the input box a little bigger; (b) giving it a rich text editor mode like the reply box?

It's a little bit inconvenient to do more than a sentence or two in each at the moment, and I find it useful to have quite a bit more than that, with some formatting. (Example, with formatting including italics, bold, and a link.)

Also: one of my character pages is doing a weird thing, layout-wise. Possibly due to having a long name? But it's not all that long. Not sure. (Screenshot; link)

Yeah, it does that for names over a certain length. A few of mine get it too.

When you try to access a page which requires being signed in, and the site thinks you are not signed in, you are directed to a page which has a sign-in box and a message saying you aren’t signed in.

When you hit the button to sign in, it takes you to the Continuities page; it should take you to whatever page you were trying to access.

Also, I haven’t cleared cookies yet because my mobile browser won’t let me do that for just one site, but I thought you said you had that fixed anyway. If so, it isn’t fixed for me.

Fixed… what? Not being logged in? (We had two occurrences where your login session should have been wiped but there shouldn't be extra weird effects, I don't think.)

Recently there was something about occasionally being logged out not connected with ongoing maintenance but to a single event, which Marri said could be fixed by clearing cookies and that she thought she had fixed even without clearing cookies.

There's... kinda two? There was ongoing maintenance which was its own beast and I think is mostly done, I think there's also "we occasionally see this weird auth error now that we're on Rails 4 and I have yet to figure out why or even manage to reproduce locally." The more details you have the better; is this after you restarted your browser? On which browser? Etc etc
