Re: Elcenia Spoilers
What would Draconic do if it ran into a magical language that decided to be adamant that shrens were dragons?
Re: Elcenia Spoilers
Heck, some non-magical languages could do that.
Worse, what about a language which insisted on having a word for “shren” and a word, derived from the first, for a “flying shren”?

Dragons could speak those languages but Draconic would not acknowledge this interpretation of conceptspace.

Re: Elcenia Spoilers
Are dragons ever transgender or nonbinary or anything other than binary cisgendered? What about parunias or thudias?
Re: Elcenia Spoilers
And this out-of-universe expert commentary:
I think I wrote the bulk of Elcenia’s original plot before I knew that nonbinaries existed, and therefore no characters of significance have Always Been nonbinary/genderfluid, but I’m lowkey keeping an eye out to see if any are volunteering for it in the reboot. No takers yet.
Binary trans people do already exist in Elcenia. Wizards also exist, so as soon as someone notices that they are trans they become really inconspicuous. Esten Kithen is trans (possibly among others, he’s the only one I’ve specifically picked out) but this hasn’t had any meaningful effects on his life since he was about twelve, which is Small Child in elf years.
[...]
Trans dragons, shrens and thudias of any variety, perhaps inconveniently for you, basically do not exist, because when dragon parents pick offspring gender this is all accomplished very neatly and holistically.

Re: Elcenia Spoilers
Can dragons just refuse to pick their offspring's gender and then end up having trans babies?
Re: Elcenia Spoilers
Kaylo seemed to think it at least theoretically possible in the linked sandbox with a Sadde.
