Thought her body language was really weird the first time he met her, but given circumstances of Katin existing 'abusive boyfriend' was also a hypothesis. First time reds came up at a family dinner he ...knew, but didn't bother internally finishing the thought? He'd really really really rather not know. He doesn't like lying to all his constituents or arranging to hurt them for the sake of his family. He'll do it but he'd be much happier not having to.

Aaaaaaaaaah

(This is great, I'm so glad pealing isn't guaranteed because it means you can have character arcs like this instead of a guaranteed happy ending )

I keep reading "native Fëanorian Amentans" as "naive Fëanorian Amentans" and expecting something (more) terrible to happen.

It is Amenta, the only remotely ok thing I can think offhand about it is that at least they do not have slavery, even though the reds come very close. Add the typical Feanorian luck to a very shitty environment and you are practically guaranteed a mass scale disaster. I keep waiting for the next ball to drop.

I had previously vaguely suspected but I'm fairly sure now that Kan is a red because Aitim's behavior and template tendencies fit that. I haven't revisited what is said about descriptions of Kan's family to check if it's contradicted, though.

...Kan is a Findekano. How exactly are you proposing this happen?

I am like 300 replies behind on that thread but I agree that it really seems like something fishy is going on with Kan.

(Mostly in a meta sort of way where we've been getting suspiciously little detail about him or Aitim, haven't been getting their POV, and there hasn't been nearly as much drama/tragedy happening there as I would in general expect. But that could just be a product of having so many characters, I guess.)

Speaking of Aitim I really love watching Maitimos bully people into being reasonable.

By what vector would Kan be a red? Anairë, wife of Nolofinwe does not have much backstory, other than that she was a Noldo and that her name means 'holiest' in Quenya and nothing is mentioned about her lineage. She might be a red that lucked out on hair color and pulled a Peka, but I don't see Nolofinwe's blue alt reacting as well as Makel if one of his kids comes out red haired. Even if there was no hair color issue, why would Anairë not inform Isel as well of red heritage? Isel gets lots of screentime and there is no hint of her being a secret red.
