Report can only reliably update when Throne is made aware of new threads to add them, which he tries to do daily but some slip and if people don't use the "New Thread" thread then it's kinda hard to do.

Which threads are these? Any particular ones or just occasionally happening? (I try to add them for the appropriate day and am mostly good about doing so but they are in fact only marked 'new' if they are literally created the day before the report or alternatively I notice they weren't and manually mark them new.)

Also yes it's hard to keep track of new threads when people don't report them in other places.

New threads should be marked with "(New)" before their name and also put into a "New Threads" spoilerbox on the day they are detected as new and the report is done.

They weren't announced but I somehow had the idea that you scraped the glowfic site for them?

I manually list recent threads, and then a program scrapes the glowfic site to check when they were last updated and to put them in an appropriate order. I also have a small Javascript thing I can run to check if there are threads in the "Recently updated" page that aren't on my list, which usually prompts me to add them, and this is why I'm somewhat confused that there were any that got past me – unless they were hidden and then got unhidden.

i would like to reiterate that I don't mystically know who is in various threads; it is simple enough to guess if it's between alicorn and lintamande, I know it if I'm involved, thread descriptions are often helpful and if not I can sometimes stitch it together by using a thread description and/or the "Setting" tag on posts, but ultimately it'd be really nice if people would give a useful indicator of what they would like me to put on the report.

From here on, if it's not obvious (from context, from people telling me, from the thread description), I am going to be putting:
X's and Y's characters
and if you put a setting tag (one setting tag, so it is extremely obvious where they are; more would in this case be ambiguous) I may do of the form:
X's and Y's characters in Z

I am stating this mostly so I don't feel obliged to dig up more information to be "doing my job properly". If you would like me to amend descriptions on the report, feel free to message me to request I do so. [I do not feel I am penalizing anyone here – if they want a more accurate description, they will request I change it or alternatively make sure they use a thread description in the future.]

I strongly recommend people put useful descriptions on their posts, not just for my sake but also for the sake of other people attempting to read stuff on the Constellation, or the EPUBs, or the Constellation report… Something 'useful' would at least include the information I do in my little descriptions for the report (i.e. the character names (or author names or moiety colors), relevant modifiers ('vampire', 'elf', 'Twivamp', 'slayer'), optionally settings they are from ('Buffyverse-Theo'), and the setting they find themselves in). Example include:

• vampire Yvette and slayer Bell in Buffyverse
• tyrians and carmines in Fringe [alternatively: Jarnvidr's and Throne's characters in Fringe]
• Guardian-Dante and Cardverse-Sadde in Milliways [not an extant thread]

I plan on discontinuing the forum report shortly as the report on the Constellation itself seems mostly sufficient. If you don't feel that's the case, please raise an objection (preferably with explanation).

I continue to have the thing where the forum affords checking exactly once per day without redundancy and the constellation version does not.

Is this not resolved by just looking at the second day of reports daily? That shouldn't change, it's the historical data.
