Hi! I'm new here! Kind of. I have had one thread ongoing for a while but I'm not really well-acquainted with The Glowfic Community, and I would like to do more glowfic than just the one thread. So. Functionally new.
Started reading glowfic (Mostly Lintamande’s) in… septemberish 2016
Read too much of lintamande’s glowfic and turned into an elf
Have not done much glowfic or forum RP, have significantly more experience with tabletop RPGs (I have been running games for more than half my life, now o.o)
Current Characters Malak
Do-gooder. Or, rather, wants to do good, often thinks what they are doing is good, but a little bit prone to solving problems with violence.
Impulsive, but easily humbled. They make mistakes often, (usually due to insufficient planning and rushing into things) but acknowledge them when they do happen and tend to be a bit less reckless in trying to fix them.
They tend to be very distrustful when meeting new people but will kind of quickly open up.
Fond of languages and codes and ciphers.
In their original incarnation they were agender, but this is not universal.
Always gay (Agender malaks are ace)
Universally have awful parenting situations, generally involving an Alfirin.
Alfirin
Ambitious, heartless, manipulative.
Always highly magical, in settings with magic.
Specializes in mind control and making magical items, when consistent with the setting.
Always as immortal as the setting allows. (Generally of the ‘comes back from the dead’ variety)
Tends to have a lot of lovers (and children), treating them as assets more than as family.
Likes meddling in politics, as much for her own amusement as for power accumulation reasons.
Generally more suitable as an antagonist than a protagonist.
Generally named after flowers.
Settings
I have a couple settings that I made for tabletop RPGs and are still fresh in my brain. Not sure how suitable these are for glowfic - the constraints and goals in worldbuilding for glowfic and worldbuilding for TTRPGs are different - but I could try writing one of them and seeing what happens.
Atalated - A year and some ago, I ran a game in a setting that was a somewhat-modified somewhat-scifi-ish version of second-age middle-earth.
Domundor - A half-successful rebellion against the gods left the world somewhat hostile to sapient life.
The setting from which Malak and Alfirin were drawn is my friend's creation for his D&D campaigns, slightly embellished. I'm less confident in my ability to write this setting, since it is mostly not my own and mostly in a head which is not my own.
I'm interested in glowficcing with either of you! Where does one typically do the PMing to arrange that?
Malak does not have extant alts, but frequently when I'm reading glowfic Malak alts pop into my head and explain exactly how they fit in to a given setting (Usually with an accompanying Alfirin). Alfirin kind of canonically has alts - the base Alfirin's form of immortality is reincarnation, with memories and powers returning gradually around age 16. Those first sixteen years are enough to create a distinct enough personality to sort of qualify as being an alt. They tend to have the same goals (mildly benevolent absolute rulership of absolutely everything) but different personalities lead to different approaches. None of them are good people, but some are better than others. Daisy was kind of nice - made friends, gave them shiny stuff, expected more-or-less unwavering loyalty in return. Amaryllis figured she wasn't going to conquer the world this lifetime, and spent it creating and hiding magic items for her and her servants to use in the future. Rose tried straight-up conquest.
