Presumably he's measuring in Years, I don't think he's noticed that humans measure time differently yet. Relatedly, I've always wondered how years and Years are distinguished in speech - presumably if they were speaking Quenya there could be different words for them and that would just be translation convention, but what if they were speaking English?

Uses of Years and years should only be when speaking Quenya (once the characters know there's a difference.) This Fëanáro is 38 Years old, developmental maturity equivalent of 14. Tolkien toyed with different ages of death for Miriel; in Silmaril (all Ardas in Silmaril) it's when Fëanáro is 11 Years (developmental maturity of five or so).

Other Fëanorians want to tell everyone what they would do if landing in Worm in 1994 as teenagers as in Magic Elf Prince from Paradise.

Maitimo listens to the first responders longer, determines he's not in danger, flees and hides for a week learning English and learning about Earth, eats no leaves and attracts no attention in the interim, and then goes to the local Protectorate to explain everything except the fact his telepathy includes reading thoughts (he explains only that it does senses.) Then he joins the Wards and starts picking apart what is going on with the PRT and on the side mindreading villains to figure out what their deal is and convert them where feasible.

Macalaurë does not flee, does not endeavor to learn English with particular haste, establishes real fast that he is in fact a magic Elf Prince from Paradise despite disclosing nothing to do with osanwë, is really upset that magic songs don't work, lies outrageously about his age and becomes an internationally famous pop star. Then once he's sure he has his footing he comes up with a costume, discloses the powers, and becomes famous under that identity too.

Tyelcormo totally flees, is quite delighted by the suggestion of a meth addict under a bridge that he do survival sex work, does that, and breaks into factory farms to release all the animals on the side. When clients make him uncomfortable he punches them and jumps out the window. He's pretty happy, honestly. Eventually he punches someone unexpectedly fragile and they die and he skips town and lives off deer and birds in the wilderness. If authorities ever catch up with him he commits suicide in custody.

Tyelcormo + Huan flee immediately and live off deer in the wilderness while figuring out together what the hell is going on, and once they determine the world is in danger they show up to a Protectorate building pretending Tyelcormo has a Master power to control Huan, who obligingly demonstrates all the things a Maia can do. They presumably send Tyelcormo to school, where he pretends he can read by reading their minds, ditches class more often than not, and eventually gets fed up with all this undeserving authority and runs away to live off deer in the wilderness again. Once he's plausibly eighteen they start showing to Endbringer fights again. Huan maybe pieces together what's up and assassinates Eidolon (not during an Endbringer truce, some other time) after which they go on the run.

Caranthir delightedly wanders Baltimore, decides humans are the best thing ever, eventually turns himself in to the Protectorate so he can get a legal identity but claims to be nearly eighteen already, 'turns eighteen', launches a bunch of osanwë-and-general-Elfiness services, invests the money, does very well with it, moves to Silicon Valley and does even better with it, funds lotsa research into cape trigger conditions and policing strategies and so on but ensures his personal safety by hiring parahuman bodyguards. If Elon Musk is around they poor resources on the effort to colonize Mars.

Curufin does the exact same as Fëanor except with less delight at human writing systems (they're /okay/) and way way more effort to get home again. Celebrimbor is /inclined/ to the exact same course of action but instead stays around and is truthful with authorities and works with them until it becomes obvious that the time they are wasting is a limited resource whereupon he runs away to artifact-design in alleys and coffeeshops. But he has useful contacts from all that trying official channels and probably comes out okay.

Twins continue to not really have personalities I'm sure they'll get around to it eventually.

99.9% sure it's Nuclear electromagnetic pulse. See e.g. here for the "EMPs from a nuclear attack will end civilization" meme.

Tyelcormo is a Good Boy.

Also, I'm curious what Artanis would've done.

In fiction I assume EMP to mean "all electronics are dead", in this case for context "all electronics everywhere are dead", and didn't know there were meanings other than electromagnetic pulse.

Artanis goes to the Protectorate, explains things, demands with diminishing patience to be allowed to sit in on college and graduate courses instead of being subjected to high school, probably gets what she wants, probably experiments with having her mundane identity be male but gives it up because there aren't good hair solutions (Galadriels aren't dysphoric but kind of loathe the female social role sometimes, including the 'girl rebelling against the female social role' social role). Is a hero, is famous mostly as the prettiest hero, vaguely resents that, periodically tries and fails to induce a trigger that'd give her Tinker powers.

thanks for the expalanation! It was right after the bit about the shooting geese so i thought it would be something that prevented them from shooting geese or consuming geese (possibly by extincting the geese). acronyms are hard.
