This is the first time standard-issue Valar have heavily featured since RoR. I’m goong to find them twice as annoying/frustrating as before because I know what they can become.

Edit: Well, shit, that’s worse than I expected. It makes sense she’d do that instead of the simpler solution which better solves the problem (forbid all daeva magic in Valinor), but. Eek.

re: why this instead of forbidding daeva magic in Valinor, they all need to be working together for 'disable magic systems in this area' stuff as opposed to 'break this specific thing' stuff. The Valar actually get better over the course of the thirty thousand years, they're just not on very flattering display here.

Are Beren and Lúthien in Limbo, or did they die before that? Any descendants of theirs?

Were the dead transferred from Mysterious Afterlife Which Eru Claims Exists But Of Which None Have Memory to Limbo when the latter was set up, or did those who died around the time of the transition get permanently* separated from their loved ones?
