Re: Goldmage
What are the powers/tradeoffs of silver and bronze mages? And the tradeoff of copper mages?
Re: Goldmage
I think Alicorn said she doesn’t want to invent those because she doesn’t want to make sure it wouldn’t break the book. That’s probably why copper sounds like it’s so much less powerful than any of the other known ones.
My thought is that Bluelantern and Erinflight should get to come up with ideas for silver and copper.

Re: Goldmage
Yeah they are uninvented because balancing a larger magic system to match an existing plot is hard and I'm not sure I can outdo the more entertainingly crafted canon mage types.
Re: Goldmage
As I understand it, all the springs in Cefax can give all five colors seen in the story, but none outside have red or gold. Are spring types usually spatially clustered like that? How many countries have multiple springs that don’t all have the same set of options as each other?

As I understand it they are geographically clustered but these clusters need not correspond to national borders; Cefax is the only one with reds and golds because Cefax is an island.
Re: Goldmage
Also how does water glow black?
Re: Goldmage
A blackmage can see the projected circles, so I assume they have an expanded visible spectrum. Water can appear black to everyone else, but glow in a color blackmages can see.
Re: Goldmage
Or it could just be a cloak of darkness; an Unlight, in which things seem to be no more, and which eyes cannot pierce, for it is void.
