No, I think that Midnight's interactions with the rest of the (proto-) peal are like this.DanielH wrote:And you think that Eru is currently in that position but it might have destabilized? That seems out of character for him. He said in Silmaril he can put limits on his own power and that it’s less beautiful when people are only fine because they don’t understand him, though that could be a lie.

Oh, yes, I agree. I thought you meant another shoe worn by Sanity.
Re: Elfthreads!
That definitely establishes that Yavanna etc. had a part in creating animals and that they were out of the Valar's thoughts. But I still think Eru was necessary to the waking them up part:jalapeno_dude wrote:[Evidence]
the voice of Ilúvatar wrote:Thou hast from me as a gift thy own being only, and no more; and therefore the creatures of thy hand and mind can live only by that being, moving when thou thinkest to move them, and if thy thought be elsewhere, standing idle.
(Ran across this while rereading.) That sounds like it'd rule out even basic instincts, potentially even Yavanna's trees. We know the Valar were engaged in acts of sub-creation including the animals, but maybe Eru collaborated more than the Valaquenta explicitly says?
Re: Elfthreads!
Timothy, really, what do you think you’re doing? You edited the story a bit, but not nearly enough. I get it that you need to defend Cam but honestly these are investigative reporters and could learn the truth.

That little moment when you suddenly get why Huan likes hanging out with Tyelcormo.lintamande wrote:"There was someone who was insistent that Huan liked shapeshifting to impersonate the royal family, and hosted debates over which things we said were us as opposed to said by Huan impersonating us. Eventually I think Huan snuck into his house somehow and ate all his rugs and he moved to Alqualondë."

[the quote tag, unlike pretty much every other tag on the forum, needs quotation marks for the author;
My first reaction to that was “ugh”. Rugs are big, can you imagine eating just one, let alone several? Good thing Huan’s a Maia,

This is certainly not helping:jalapeno_dude wrote:I would like to re-register this prediction in light of the introduction of Midnight. I am getting a feeling from his interactions which is the same feeling I got when I read Branches on the Tree of Time, i.e.jalapeno_dude wrote:Funny, I had the exact opposite reaction to the Bell introduction.DanielH wrote:Okay, maybe there isn’t another shoe.total spoilers for that fic.

"I think most things that would be this exciting would be bad."

Somewhere in Hell, someone is definitely conjuring for everything titled "letter to Cam" and mistaking it for the Many Worlds Forum.
Re: Elfthreads!
I just realized that a large majority of lintamane’s Elf icons are indecent and I don’t know how I failed to notice this before.
