Sandboxing Prompts
Re: Sandboxing Prompts
That sounds pretty fun. Learning a language? That gives you magic powers? Right up his alley.

Ooh, what worlds have fun immortality systems she could frantically steal...
Re: Sandboxing Prompts
If she lands somewhere without immortality (but with human-style lifespans), what kinds of things would she seek instead?

Magic to do cheaty glowficcy interactions with songburning with, tech that is of use to shorefolk (shorefolk are not super into tech, though).
Re: Sandboxing Prompts
Tisvetaia preservation comes to mind as a compatible but interesting immortality form.

I’m surprised she hasn't tried burning a computer yet, at least not in thread. That’s probably the first thing I’d try once I knew what they were and had one spare. You can fit a lot of information in your hand with just 2016 Earth technology and you can copy it out very quickly even without a demon. A PADD or Revelation thumbnail computer or whatever Space or the Andalites user would be even better.
Failing that I’d want a hardcopy dictionary or encyclopedia or whatever reference works best.

Don't you still need to know the information (and forget it in the process)? My understanding was that the writing just allows for a higher density (information-per-time put into the magic) and as a consequence of that, stronger effects, than singing-and-forgetting-while-you-go does. So the primary limitation is on how fast you can learn, and computers only help with transcription.
…Can you burn something you know but somebody else wrote?

You need to know it but printed or other-written representations work.

For the Epic in Syntropy idea: he's a demon and the Lone Power is like, entropy, so that's another way that would be absolutely amazing on top of the magic language thing.
The WAFFLES will submit to this indignity.
