It's based on *several* things, enough to make it original by recombination. Especialy since one (the nudibranch) is from reality, and some is from other RPs or discussions with friends about stuff not yet out anywhere. A notable one is Three Worlds Collide.

Oh, I got that too. I found that pretty clear. But I don't understand what's going on with the eggs. Or the automatic learner. Or what the heck is going outside the room. It's fun not knowing yet, though! This story is fun!

I'm pretty sure the automatic learner is the computer system that Cam was interacting with before the blue sea slug showed up.

I'm not sure what you mean by outside the room; what we've seen outside the room was an attempt to brute-force magic, and what's currently outside the room is hard vacuum because Cam is being taken into space.

I'm not really clear on the eggs, but they're probably to do with the life that BSS is so interested in.

I mean _all_ the stuff outside the room. Not directly, but the stuff 3.4 light seconds away. Or what's with the magic circles. Or stuff like that.

I think he's been interacting with the blue slug thing the entire time, my impression was the automatic learner made the magic circles. Somehow.

When BSS showed up, Cam started hearing a synthesized voice instead of just audio clips of himself speaking, and BSS said "sorry automatic rude".
