… Apparently the maximum number of allowed characters in a post is 60,000. The latest report contains 62,717 if I include all these unread links. I'll probably just put them on "updated today" things?

It's apparently still 58,069 characters, so we might end up with issues in the future if we have a large number of threads updating like today.

I could trim off the "Last updated 10-27" things, at the end, if it gets too large. I'd find it displeasing to split it into multiple posts or something.

This is in fact the case; I've set it to unlimited for now, but I haven't talked to Alicorn about it and she might want to set it someplace else instead.

65,536 characters is a pretty common technical limitation of text blob fields, but it sounds like the forum probably uses a larger column if there's an option for Unlimited.

Is it possible we're just reaching the point where this should exist on the Constellation instead?

I expect we have. People need to announce anything they do on Dreamwidth anyway; I expect all the automatic tracking no longer looks at any of that?

The automatic tracking currently looks at We weren't even testing for that (which hasn't been updated in a while and is apparently on hiatus) and no other Dreamwidth threads.

It is probably easier to implement it on the Constellation and also should result in less load on it, since it won't be poking at a bunch of pages every day.

I had the report all loaded by about 6 ¾ hours ago, distinctly recall seeing it on the forum, but apparently did not post it. I assume I must have previewed and forgotten to submit? Anyway, it's up now – thank Pedro for poking me.
