JHWH feels that the watch your step situation as described sounds pretty reasonable to her. If the kids are gonna bring in an apocalypse, the kids gotta go. She'll kill a baby, she'll kill five hundred babies, she doesn't give a shit. (This is actually an internal template meme; in the Homestuck setting that doesn't exist but is pretty well plotted out, her alt ended up killing six babies for the sake of a stable time loop. Her justification was not as good as the reasons in watch your step.)

I honestly have noooo idea what's going on with JHWH and the Binding of Isaac. It's possible she needed Abraham to do some divinely sanctioned wetworks shit and needed to know for absolute certain that he wasn't going to chicken out. (A la "dude, there's an apocalypse about to go down, I need you to kill some babies", perhaps.) She's not totally sure most of the Bible actually happened in-universe anyway; she never had a Maggie-Jehovah-type hands-on period, she's always been kind of preoccupied with hedging out tentacular fiends from beyond the stars.

Would shr kill the babies without thinking of alternative solutions?

She'd try... pretty hard to think of alternate solutions.

Under the circumstances of watch your step I think she would prioritize saving the babies under a lot of other issues, though. So she might just decide to go with it as her most straightforward option, because she could be using that time and energy to stop Melkor.

worst problem with killing babies wasn't killing them per se, it was that some parents wouldn't kill their babies and then eclipse so they needed a better solution that would actually work

JHWH is not unwilling to kill babies personally if necessary. In Dresdencanon she's sharply limited in her ability to do things herself, but if she were a Vala then she would be very willing to be her own angel of death.

Was my question above answered in-thread somewhere?

Also, for Garlic Bread, the last reply I read was this. I give Aestrix and Kappa three tags each from that point before Mark figures out it’s Miles, or at least has that among his various hypotheses.

EDIT: Also, given the name of the thread, I’ve been wondering: how difficult would it be to invent a spell to let vampires appreciate human food*, and how much more difficult for food including garlic.

* Here defined as “food intended for human consumption”, not “food which is human”.

EDIT 2: Wow, I was right. He only expressed it in his fourth post after that, but he figured it out from Cyrille’s third.
