The Glowfic Constellation
Re: The Glowfic Constellation
Canonical would be, stays as set by the author, but when you click on it to see other posts with the tag it shows the "canonical" one. Other version, one tag ceases to exist entirely, appears everywhere as the same tag

I lean canonical for misc tags and settings, and consistent for warnings, yeah.

I'm fine with it staying a part of the other ticket, yeah.Marri wrote:@Throne, do you want a new ticket for the mobile icon view layout, or is leaving it as part of the great FIx Mobile Layout ticket #169 okay?
I'd lean canonical for misc tags, consistent for warnings, and – I'd personally be okay with settings being consistent but I feel like people would probably, overall, prefer canonical.Kappa wrote:I lean canonical for misc tags and settings, and consistent for warnings, yeah.

Re: The Glowfic Constellation
Problem I am having: I see my unread full of stuff. I only remember the titles of a few threads -- the ones I am most obsessed about reading right as they are written and the ones with especially distinctive titles. I am also reading some things I am casually interested in.
If I happen to want to find and open a particular casual thread right now, I have to click on all of the threads I do not remember and close the ones that are not it.
Possible solution: hovertext. Problem with that is I usually read from my phone.
Help?

The WAFFLES will submit to this indignity.
Re: The Glowfic Constellation
Threads already have subtitles. They can be displayed as hovertext when a mouse is present and as click-a-button-to-show on mobile? I would also like some way to get icon hovertext on mobile.
Alternate solution: get all existing mobile browsers to show hovertext on long press or something. This is harder but you get huge bonus points if you can pull it off.

Re: The Glowfic Constellation
For settings, is the same place by different authors the same setting or a different one, e.g. Teceler's Arda vs. lintamande's? How about same author, but different continuity with different details, e.g. Alethia vs. Chamomile?
Re: The Glowfic Constellation
I think the plan is, when settings are properly implemented, to tie them to world clusters (like all the Sunnyverses) if applicable, plus continuities, again if applicable?

Re: The Glowfic Constellation
Are you saying that this (subtitles showing as hovertext on the thread title in Unread Threads) is already a feature on the GC or requesting it as a feature? If the former, I'm confused because that doesn't seem to be true for me; if that latter, I second the request.DanielH wrote:Threads already have subtitles. The “can” was “Marri can make this happen”, not “the website can currently do this”
Re: The Glowfic Constellation
I have a hidden thread. I opened it and read some but not all of it; I expected it would now show up on my opened unread threads page. Is its remaining off that page intentional?
