Thoughts

So apparently prepending b shifts the pattern of as ahead by one, as though it were equivalent to another a, prepending 0 shifts it ahead 2, and prepending w shifts it ahead 3. I don’t know why those letters have those values.

In the wider array of context of order not seeming to matter, this implies that concatenation is some sort of addition, not multiplication. I formed that hypothesis fairly early on but it didn’t work in any way I could discern so I abandoned it. With these values pre-chosen I’m going to try some experiments and see what happens. I expect the first five to all be yesses, and the last five to all be nos.

Edit: it’s always possible that my thoughts are correct but I made a mistake choosing these patterns, or that they are incorrect and I made such a mistake; if another player thinks that by these rules something I said should be classified other than how I put it please point that out. I put an existing koan or nonkoan which I believe will have the same classification next to each of my proposals, from which that proposal was derived using my thoughts above.

I still dom’t see why the would be so close to a but not quite the same. Maybe capitalization really does matter or something?

Also, my best guess for the a pattern is this. It does not fit the²⁴, but The¹ has a different answer than a¹ and the known values for powers of the and a are otherwise identical.

Edit: There are multiple powers of the which my guess doesn’t fit, but that was the only one I remembered for some reason.
