Re: Elfthreads!
Because she was also actively resisting it, had been for Years. Canonically Tolkien speaks of oaths as awakening and building and intensifying and so on. If there'd been an escape clause on it in the first place she could probably have taken it; by twelve Years in it was also proscribing circumvention.

There is a spreadsheet that Teceler started doing recently (and others of us in IRC have been collaborating on), which contains some information on things like this… It's probably not all that directly useful right now but it could at least be edited to include more information and is a neat location for it?
Re: Elfthreads!
Ugh my brain is trying to prompt me to add Silmaril to the wiki and NO BAD BRAIN I should just somehow improve the Constellation to fix this problem.

Re: Elfthreads!
I've been using FoxReplace to help with this - I haven't set up a thing for the new thread yet but I made one for the Hogwarts one that for example replaces 'Aaron' with 'Aaron (Caranthir)' and it definitely makes it more readable - you could outright replace the names, too, if you prefer it, though 'Minor' is a bit risky that way.
(I'm also using it to put a + in front of threads I like on the unread threads page, so I can see more easily when they update - ctrl-f and 'highlight all' are useful in conjunction with it.)

Wait, the new Oath still says Eru Allfather? Is that a typo or deliberate? Eru was referred to with female pronouns a bit upthread.

Re: Elfthreads!
I'm trying to figure out what 'Allmother" would be. Fëanorians only come in girl in a fully genderswapped universe.
Re: Elfthreads!
Do you mean you’re trying to figure out the Quenya for it? Ilúvatar was translated to English in thread so Allmother works.

I'm not sure if this is where this belongs, but I just had a horrifying thought. What if the disease from Muse worked on elves?
