Quotables!

If it's germane, yet doesn't fit into another category, it can go here.

Well, not quite. You need to actually click a link first.

Gentleman Jole and the Red Queen wrote:"I'm on your side," [Miles] grumbled. "If I could figure out what it is."

"I know, love," [Cordelia] sighed. I just wish you'd be on my side more quietly, somewhere else.

This has always been one of the things that bugged me most about Bell rulership. Pattern was stuck for about a decade with one and a half Jokers, public knowledge about magic, and limited resurrection, and even she didn’t manage* to get magic to other people who might have wanted it and wouldn’t cause trouble.

* Note that this is not in the story itself so is presumably subject to change without notice if Alicorn and Kappa decide that way.

(I see two more problems with Bells' demonstrated skill at running things which bug me. But further discussion of this doesn't belong in this thread so I'll post them elsewhere if there turns out to be a place where that discussion happens.)
The Luster Valar will consult Eru on this.

Eru thinks this is fantastic.

Okay. The Luster Valar will allow it
.

Interesting, when I saw the second paragraph my inclination was to look for other options instead because this one was clearly a Terrible Idea somehow. Elspeth seems to at least partially agree. It’s not often you run into somebody for whom reversing their advice really is a good strategy, but Eru is under most circumstances a fine candidate.
