It occurred to me that when we're talking about Kelsey's Noldor characters in a non-Arda setting, they could be called the "Non-dor".

Okay, so Yeerks in someone's head go into z-space when they morph.
There is apparently "a lot of stuff" in z-space.

(1) Be a Yeerk.
(2) Acquire morphs.
(3) Acquire morph-capable host.
(4) Morph host into butterfly.
(5) You are now in Z-space.
(6) Morph into nasty small critter to chew your way out of whatever you're surrounded with in Z-space. (Possibly morphing doesn't work in Z-space? Substitute some other tunneling technique if necessary.)
(7) Explore Z-space. Find cool stuff.
(8) When host demorphs, attempt to bring cool stuff with you?

(This is a long-winded way of saying I hope they explore Z-space more because it seems like there might be Applications. Too bad the Feanor is dead.)

As far as I know, the parts of you that are in Z-space while you're in morph are not aware/accessible to your consciousness while they are in Z-space... until some yokel rams a ship into you while you're innocently morphing a mosquito and you end up in some sort of weird time bullshit because Animorphs oh my god.

I think the problem of getting stuff out if Z-space is easy enough to solve that you don’t need to hack it.

I think if you are a Yeerk in a host-morphed-small you are still wrapped around their brain in Z-space and should not undertake this procedure even if it would otherwise make total sense.

Yeah, I suspect that if you got *out* of their brain while in Z-space they would stop being Yeerked at the very least, and if you got out of their brain *destructively* they might stop being alive, and in either case "when the host demorphs" would no longer be a condition capable of affecting you.

Yeah, you could probably do this except for the part where chewing your way out of your host's skull doesn't somehow kill them

You could always leave the host in the traditional way for Yeerks to do so, then re-enter before demorph. This requires a cooperative host or a partner to stun the host when you leave.

And I can't think of any way in which jaunting around outside your host while in Z-space would allow you to bring back any matter when you both demorphed.

I can think of a few things, but not particularly useful ones. Maybe you could get tightfitting clothing onto the host, or bring tiny amounts of stuff into the skull as long as it didn’t interfere biologically.

I can’t wait to see Matirin’s perspective on Midnight; it seems likely to be different than those of the other Maedhroses.
