The door is actually not totally consistent on whether it sends you to your home world or just wherever you came from; I've been having demons go wherever they came from. A Fëanork (Forkanor?) would go back to the ship whence the original came.
Milliways/Elcenia interaction edge cases are Annoying and will be resolved as plot demands one at a time not necessarily consistently between sandboxen.
Supplemental worldbuilding questions
Re: Supplemental worldbuilding questions
Cam says that a Loki spell is like an encyclopedia of gibberish. I thought he understood the atomic concepts everything was built from (given that the concepts themselves were sent first) so could he not have understood the structures made from then? Did he just never bother to “read” the encyclopedia?
Do you have it decided how everybody else can learn encyclopedia-sized spells as whole units without being able to identify the individual volumes?

Cam has the "letters" - everybody who learns the things does - but they can't compose them into "words" like Loki can, or anything on up from there. Lbh pna vzntvar gung guvf jbhyq erfhyg va fbzrguvat lbh zvtug pnyy tvoorevfu.

Can Luminosity Nathan's power be used as a proxy for adjacency-skipping futuretelling? Like, "What's the best time for me to tell Bella the princess will arrive in six months? How about telling her she won't arrive in six months?" Maybe with something like Bella making up her mind to punch Nathan if he turns out to be wrong or something.
Re: Supplemental worldbuilding questions
Something similar happened in Effulgence: they were cut off from Elspeth and Nathan found that the best time to use humor with Bella was in 11 years.

Yeah, this is why Jacob is alive, p much.
Re: Supplemental worldbuilding questions
Oh, yeah, yikes. He couldn’t just spend the whole time indefinitely asleep.
Re: Supplemental worldbuilding questions
Is the “grammar” of spell components not transmissible via telepathy or was it just not transmitted for some reason? Are the individual concepts such that you can’t get some interpretation from seeing a bunch together, like how a Pen’ sentence is still understandable without her being able to put words together correctly?

Re: Supplemental worldbuilding questions
Intransmissible, not learnable by exposure.
Re: Supplemental worldbuilding questions
How many collective days have the various Fëanors wasted in trying? And I am still curious about the “standard” method of spell teaching; is that at least developed? Even if it’s far enough removed from what Loki does to not be immediately relevant to her, it is useful in other ways. Even though her homemade spells are higher quality, something pre-written is much faster if available.
