I'm not sure I have a better word for it than "shrennaki", but... something about the relationship to suffering? Mark said something about pressure; the Miles is forged in the crucible. He comes out of it -- perhaps not necessarily stronger, exactly, but more himself, more strongly a Miles.

Or maybe I'm entirely wrong. He lives in your head, only occasionally visits mine.

Sandbox idea:

Clearly what he needs is a Sphere. Do you think inventing writing is enough for that, or would it require the Silmarils?
