The kabbalistic meaning of "bell" is "one who calls for aid from afar." This meaning comes from Alexander Graham Bell, who gave the world the means to communicate across long distances, and whose famous first words across his invention were to call for help.
The kabbalistic meaning of "Mary", as well as its various derivatives such as "Marie", is "one who brings forth salvation." This meaning comes from the Virgin Mary, Mother of God, whose story is well known and will not be recounted here.
The kabbalistic meaning of "swan" is "that which makes the impossible possible". This meaning comes from the old usage of the phrase "black swan" to refer to something impossible or self-contradictory, and from the later discovery of actual black swans, leading to the new meaning of "black swan" to refer to something completely unprecedented.
Kabbalistically, the vast majority of swans are white, and their significance is better explained in terms of the swan's traditional association with graceful movement.
Bella Marie Swan has never moved gracefully in her life.

I really should catch up on Unsong, or at least finish the first book.

Lambda, you are a good.
Re: Worlds you want to glowfic
Random silly idea from the above:
Give a Bell a magic that only does grace, or rather perfect movement control (possibly to the point of thermodynamic absurdity). How far can she take this?

Re: Worlds you want to glowfic
It wasn't quite only, but the Ender's Game Bell spent a while accomplishing things mostly by perfect movement control. Might be a guide for how such an only would go about it.
Re: Worlds you want to glowfic
Loki could also be reasonably described as having perfect movement control, though in a somewhat stronger sense.
Re: Worlds you want to glowfic
I think I do want to try a glowfic set in Unsong. Mostly because it really ought to exist, and I'm probably relatively well-positioned to include the complicated Bible references. It wouldn't be Unsong without at least some.
I'm not confident of getting this off the ground, but someone has to!
