Daevinity Worldbuilding Info
Re: Daevinity Worldbuilding Info
Have you decided which famous people were summoners? I was surprised Norman Borlaug was not; I expect Melkor’s reference to Hitler in Hell was unrelated, and I would be completely shocked if James Randi went to Limbo unless the existence of parlor tricks completely altered his career path.

You don't have to personally summon anything to get most of the value that is common knowledge to living humans. You can hire somebody who specialized in that. Norman Borlaug also, like, died the same year Cam did.

Do daeva automatically know their bindings, or do they need to figure them out by reading the circles and seeing what they are unable to do?

Re: Daevinity Worldbuilding Info
Some of them are obvious because they're so tight that not being able to do the thing feels like something (gags are this), others they know only by circle-reading or experiment.
Re: Daevinity Worldbuilding Info
Is the demons' creation ability just unable to create magic items, or can it not see them, as well? Could you, for instance, create a clay model of all magic things in a specific area?
Could a demon create a chip of someone by converting the format of the information in their brain, instead of by copying an already-existent chip?
Why isn't anyone coercing Daeva into entirely unfair bargains by threatening to leave them bound and gagged in a summoning circle in an empty room until they agree?

Re: Daevinity Worldbuilding Info
The last one I asked about near the early middle of the thread and I can answer despite not being Alicorn. That does happen occasionally, as do daeva “zoos” where the point of the summons was to keep daeva bound safely. However, if this happened anywhere near often, daeva would not answer summons because the process is voluntary. Most jurisdictions have strict laws about that kind of thing to ensure that summoning still does work.

I think it can't see magic items (unless they can be picked out some other way), but that's a good question.
No.
No.
Re: Daevinity Worldbuilding Info
In worlds with distant clusters of daeva, I understand how that works for fairies and angels, but how do demons and their infosec-hazard powers not know?

Some handwavey combination of "haven't checked' and "anyone who checked didn't propagate the info".

Re: Daevinity Worldbuilding Info
Is there a generally applied understanding of what happens to non-daevinity dead summoners, or is it decided on a case-by-case basis?
