So Moriwen wrote a thing and I think it's adorable and everyone should see it.

What should be the procedure to tell a VR'ed Eclipsed that someone died?

...they're not incommunicado, they can get letters from their families or whatever.

I meant do they pull the kid out of VR or just send the news into it?

I assume they send the news in. It takes time to pull kids out of VR (days of starving) and they still aren’t safe. I guess they could have one of the staff psions lock them down temporarily to attend the funeral.

They send it in. Being locked down (or if there's time starved down) to attend the funeral is an option.

Oh, right. I remember something to the effect that the lock down is uncomfortable? Does it get to "can't fuction" levels? Does it hurt?

If you're not brand new, it's uncomfortable, and whether you prefer it to two days' fast is a personal taste thing; it won't incapacitate you but it's distracting.
