There should also be an Incandescence thread
Re: There should also be an Incandescence thread
Do supertwins have to be of the same gender or sex, or is that just sample size? Also, I'm surprised by how well Savannah and Bella seem to be interfacing, though I suppose Zevs aren't the most outlandish template Bells could (or have) ended up paired with.
Re: There should also be an Incandescence thread
They don't need to be the same gender or sex, it's just the sample size. We felt like having girls, girls everywhere.

This is usually a good idea in general, yes.Aestrix wrote:Yesterday we came up with 'let's give them all superpowers'

Sometimes! It doesn't fit with everything, though. Real life, who knows what would happen. Probably pandemonium.DeAnno wrote:This is usually a good idea in general, yes.

Hopefully! One twin can have a power to summon pandas and the other twin can make them ... ah ... pan-demon.Aestrix wrote:Probably pandemonium.

From here:
(I notice that this is my second consecutive post mentioning abortion, which seems to merit a disclaimer. Disclaimer: I am extremely pro-choice, but have no wish to push my beliefs on anyone, or even argue about them in this forum. As far as I can tell, it is a coincidence that I was moved to post two consecutive comments--they were both sparked by reading Incandesence, but different parts of it. I will happily edit/delete this and my previous post if it makes Alicorn or anyone else uncomfortable.)
Was this intentionally supposed to be an abortion parallel? Different situation regarding the timeframes of dependency vs. sentience, admittedly, but it seems very similar nonetheless."Yyyyes. I revisit the question occasionally and have consistently come down on the side of 'the unfortunate dependence of familiar on potential binder does not oblige the binder to take responsibility for and risks on behalf of a familiar against their will' - but yeah, it's not great."

We didn't engineer the situation that way deliberately, but the analogy crossed my mind when I wrote that.

Random thought while reading 'clannish' where Renata takes Zeviana to the zoo: I feel like most worlds with humonoid type people should also have monkeys and such animals. But obviously not all of them, since Zeviana seems to not recognise them.

It seems likely that monkeys wouldn't have made an appearance while the twins were being passed between noble families, and obviously there wouldn't be any in New Kystle.
