There may be more tonight but I need to run to the theater. For now, updates:
  • Clicking your username or your avatar in the top menu now takes you to your account page
  • People have been writing enough that the fact that a number of pages just cut off at 25? Not great. Results now paginated on: a user's profile page, viewing a single continuity, Recently Updated, Tags Owed, character page, possibly a couple other places.
  • Pagination was broken on the Search page; it's fixed now.
  • Many more site elements have descriptive HTML classes assigned them so Throne3d can easily run his epub scraper
Tags Owed is unfortunately temporarily not filtering properly; this will be fixed when I get home. Sorry!

+1 like quick account link

Edit: Um, I think you broke the tags owed page. It's showing me ALL my threads.

Glad you like it! Throne3d and I actually both put in the change separately, so dual credit? xD

And yes, the tags owed page would be this thing:

That should now be fixed. Also the Unread page should no longer be confused by posts that were updated after the most recent reply.

(Edit to add: this particular change was both large and nerve-wracking. I ran tests, and looked for edge cases, and put the site into maintenance mode and took a full backup before I did anything, and yada yada yada but if you see anything acting weirdly pleeeease tell me!)

I got bored and anti-sleep so I added user moieties. You can update it in your settings page, and it displays on the Glowficcer page. Wasn't sure if I should add it more places.

In the posts themselves?

In lists of posts?

Both? Neither? Not sure how people feel about the rendering. (Seriously, I do not UI, have opinions at me.)

* All screenshots taken from my development machine. Nothing I have posted images of is an actual existing post anywhere. (Nor, for that matter, was it actually posted by Kappa, or in Incandescence xD BUT TESTING.)

I think having a moiety name as well as the moiety colour would be cool. Not necessarily everywhere, but maybe on the Glowficcer page.

As for displaying it with the posts themselves, I favour this idea, but maybe not as those boxes like that? Like...

IDK, that doesn't look quite right either, but it looks better.

It feels like there should be a way (possibly with a setting to enable/disable this) to do it more similarly to how Ade does it? Changing the colour of the character and/or author instead of adding the box thing.

The trouble with that is that the character and author names are links and they will look less like links if they're going around being moiety-coloured all the time. It's not necessarily the worst thing, but it's a thing.

Pedro, that was my first thought, but then you get problems with people in the green spectrum (which looks similar to no moiety) and people with moieties similar to the background color. I think Kappa’s idea is the best so far, but I agree it also doesn’t look right. Maybe it would be better with the border just around the icon?

I feel meh about showing moiety colors. What about new authors who do not have same?

New authors without moiety colours can just not have them display.

Pondering a thing...

*edit* The thing:

More vivid ones kind of need a border, unfortunately, even though Ade's nice sedate brown got away without it:
