Daily Reports Chatter
Re: Daily Reports Chatter
I would like completed threads as well as dropped -- sometimes I wait to read/catch up on a thread until after it's finished, and it would be really cool to have those all in a nice organized place.
Re: Daily Reports Chatter
65,535 is a pretty standard space limit in programming, I'd guess it's that.
I personally don't get a huge amount of value from seeing the days the thread didn't update; maybe you could only include days that updated?

That can certainly happen.Moriwen wrote:I would like completed threads as well as dropped -- sometimes I wait to read/catch up on a thread until after it's finished, and it would be really cool to have those all in a nice organized place.
I could but it seems inelegant? I'd be more inclined to just link to the first post and first post of last posted day (actual last post info isn't easily available) for each one.Marri wrote:I personally don't get a huge amount of value from seeing the days the thread didn't update; maybe you could only include days that updated?

Re: Daily Reports Chatter
How far over the character limit are we talking? If it's only a factor of 2 or 3 rather than like 20 then it seems fine to have these take up multiple posts given it's only once a month.
Re: Daily Reports Chatter
Probably three, for 'everything', 'dropped', and 'completed' lists. The 'everything' list takes up a bit more than one and the other two will be significantly smaller. (Quite possibly more than that eventually, though; we've been trending toward more threads per day, and summer - and people being more available to glowfic - is coming.)
Having looked at what the original version would be in practice, if I'm going to do that I'm going to make a new thread for it - definitely too disruptive even if it was one post to go in the mini-notifications thread.

How do you decide the order in which threads are listed?

Re: Daily Reports Chatter
Would it be any trouble to bold all the coloured names so their colours are easier to see?
Re: Daily Reports Chatter
Chronologically; in the new posts section by first post of the day and in the last posted section by last post of the day; in both cases newest first.rockeye_stonetoe wrote:How do you decide the order in which threads are listed?
Sure, I can do that. Thread names too, or are those okay?Kappa wrote:Would it be any trouble to bold all the coloured names so their colours are easier to see?
