Good enough for me.
Re: Eclipse Worldbuilding Info
Add in metacausality/it’s more interesting to write about the strange cases, and it’s downright likely.

You mentioned Renee putting half her hair up at a pride parade--is hair that's long or at least longish but put up dommish? Or at least moreso than long hair that's down, I'm guessing.

Renée keeps her hair chin length (about as long as Isabella ever lets it get between haircuts) habitually and can put it up with barettes/braids/etc. if she wants. Hair that's long but up creates a dommish silhouette - the subbiest thing to do is wear long hair loose - but if you can tell it's long you still guess sub first.

Re: Eclipse Worldbuilding Info
I like this setting.
Alex would be a sub. At first, he'd be pretty happy with it, but would start struggling against the system when he realizes the stereotypes make people less likely to listen to him. He can't stand condescension. He'd definitely be an activist.
Glen would be a dom. She's not particularly interested in having a relationship, but enjoys the role in non-sexual settings.
They would retain their friendship of course. Glen would enjoy teasing Alex with pointless orders and he would enjoy ignoring them.
There are situations where they might pretend to be in a dom/sub relationship, or people might assume they are, but they wouldn't be in one.
Ryou would be a sub, but would pretend to be a dom.
Flynn is hard. I can't see her giving orders, but I also can't see her taking them. She could be a switch, but wouldn't be comfortable with it. She'd rebel against the system by being as contradictory as possible.
Raiden would be a switch who is in denial of that fact and pretends to be a dom.

So Sadde's "you're in my spot" bit didn't work out too well in that specific case, but I thought it was a valiant effort at acting the part of the "secondary dom" or equivalent. How observed in the setting is hierarchy play like that?

Re: Eclipse Worldbuilding Info
It happens in collections, especially as they become large enough to benefit internally from some kind of pecking order, and it amuses a certain sort of dom to have subs try to dom one another. Obviously comes up more in the presence of switches. Sometimes doms wind up in situations where they have to tolerate some kind of institutional authority but they're usually not having as much fun with it so it's mostly internal organization among groups of switches and subs.

My characters:
- Laura, barely onscreened, was a closet dom, closeted due to religion. Upon leaving Tobias, has dramatic scene where she cut her hair short.
- Tobias is as horrible person and also a dom. If it weren't for Religion would collect.
- Dauntless is a more-or-less Carlisle-style dom, all sweet and caring. In the bedroom he likes role-playing the disciplinarian, and has a sadistic streak which he will only indulge with a masochistic sub. Is monogamous.
- Willow is a switch, but not that interested in relationships or sex.
- Law (Discworld's Samuel Vimes, only onscreened on an alt in Inlustrem) is a sub that pretends to be a dom socially.
- Chell (also not onscreened, from Portal) is aro/ace, nondynamic, presents as dom.

So how common is the sort of list-of-interests-and-boundaries thing Bella has Sadde do? Is that an idiosyncrasy of hers, or is that the BDSM!verse equivalent of "tell me about your family"?

Re: Eclipse Worldbuilding Info
Neither. It's considered a good idea to know what the boundaries are before you enter a sexual relationship (or just be very conservative about it) in sort of the same way it's a good idea to swap up-to-date STI tests (or at least use condoms).
