Sandbox Discussions
Re: Sandbox Discussions
So it wasn't an explicit "Morgan the Fairy" reference on her part? If it's after meeting non- or ex-non-daeva she could have heard of King Arthur. But that association would make the name sound more feminine.
Re: Sandbox Discussions
I think she was aware and found it amusing and not too feminine to scare her off from the name, but it wasn't why she picked it.
Re: Sandbox Discussions
I feel a bit sorry for the Glam subtemplate. They try to hide their secret, but people always discover it. In 2–3 of the four available samples it’s not even their fault. Maybe it’s the perfectly necessary requests at an Endbringer fight, maybe it’s access to an unusual set of information, maybe it’s playing off of a joke.

I actually dislike how easily they figure it out, it feels out of character.
Sorry for my bad english

Re: Sandbox Discussions
I didn't actually intend to have Ashras figure it out that early, but then the setup happened by accident, and I was like "can I steer you into not jumping on this?", and he was like "not a chance".
It would've happened pretty soon anyway, because the claims Glam has to make about their power in order to cover for its actual properties are things that lead a Miles to go, "Why are you not exploiting this?! I will help you exploit it HARDER!", and working extensively with Glam's power will tend to clue one in if one is the sort of person who notices clues.
According to the Miles template, Glam's situation is actually intensely fragile until they have at least one conspirator and preferably more.

Re: Sandbox Discussions
Morgan just thought it was very obvious. 'Fairies' 'Glam' and 'This person is trying to make me think something very obviously' all combined together for - well. Figuring it out.

What are the 1-2 samples you would say are their fault? (Not that I can't probably guess, but curious anyway.)DanielH wrote:I feel a bit sorry for the Glam subtemplate. The Miles template is correct.Kappa wrote:According to the Miles template, Glam's situation is actually intensely fragile until they have at least one conspirator and preferably more.

Re: Sandbox Discussions
Morgan and, to a lesser extent, Mountain. Morgan had no help except the bad luck of Glam’s whimsical theme of the day being fairies. There are a lot of potential whims, including unicorns, which do not help give it away. Mountain saw the same evidence as everybody else but had the correct hypothesis more available.
On the other hand, there was nothing that Glam could have done to stop Ashras from finding out in that way, and the “no suspicious reaction to the joke” option was the least likely to cause problems. Similarly, trying to get attention during an Endbringer fight was really important, enough so that it was the correct action even if it did make them more suspicious.

Kero is at least available on a more ongoing basis than the Shadows. Or I don't think they'd be very forthcoming if you tracked them down on the other side to ask more questions.
I think they both lose to a Terraria guide.

Re: Sandbox Discussions
I’m not sure. The guide isn’t trying to screw you over, and is in fact trying to help you. However, the shadows can at least understand more complicated questions. Imagine asking the guide “What are all the supernatural effects of the options which don’t affect mana color?”.
