It'll be the previous "active character", as it was before, so it should be the last character you ever posted with.
If you've never posted before, I'm not sure what the default behaviour was before, but it should still be that.
I see that CSS cleanup is still listed in the todo, but not in detail. I wanted to report that there are still some issues on mobile. When the icon width is a significant fraction of the screen width, it would be much better if the per-post sidebar were instead a header, so that the text could take up the full screen width. Compare this Dreamwidth page with and without the style=site flag. On my phone, without that parameter, I either need to make the text uncomfortably small or have the icon halfway off the page. With the style=site parameter, I can easily see both the image and text.

@DanielH I believe Throne3d's changes included an improvement for that, and for wide header bars; it's not perfect with long usernames but let me know if it helps.
@Ezra @Throne3d if you've never posted or if you have no characters, the default is posting as your account rather than as a character.
@Moriwen took a shot at fixing the post page jumping, let me know if it's still being weird about pages.
Aaaand I put up the new icon UI. I'm very afraid. I hope everything doesn't die. Good luck, send bug reports.
Thanks, that helps. The appearance could be improved a bit (it’s a bit weird to have the lines of text next to the image be a different height than the image), but it is much better now.
