I have recently built/discovered a horrible/awesome sandbox to throw unsuspecting characters into. If you have a relatively mundane character and would be interested in having a Horrible Thing happen to them, inquire.

We discussed the Horrible Thing yesterday and it was basically "A character wakes up with a nightmare-monster sitting on them, it shoves tarot cards at them and says CHOOSE. When you choose, it puts you in another world with people who think they've known you for a decade and superpowers."

(Please correct me if I got the details wrong, Eva.)
