It is too much to ask for The Warforged to have handholds for easy climbing?

I found online PDFs of the Eberron Player's Guide and Campaign Setting for those who are interested in the like Official Documents or otherwise want to actually build 3.5e D&D versions of their character.

Actually, going to http://www.reality.net/dnd/pdf/ there are a whole bunch of PDFs that people might find useful, including nearly all the 3.5e Eberron manuals: Jalapeno, weigh in on how much of this is okay to read/give credence to and how much would be like, ruinous spoilers for your campaign or something?

I am comfortable with the ability of my players to separate in-character from out-of-character knowledge. I am perfectly happy to disseminate information as needed for those who prefer not to read up on the lore, but you're welcome to do so if you want. As previously noted, I reserve the right to adjust things from standard Eberron canon, but I will default to it. The main books I personally use are the Eberron Campaign Setting, Five Nations, Dragonmarked, and Forge of War, but I do have copies of and occasionally consult all the other books (except the novels).

If we are going to be The Robot and Team Smol, I will play a city halfling reporter or Gnome Indiana Jones. I will also refer to the party as "The Robot and Team Smol".

Kappa, if you want your StevenChainsaw to be "the Robot" of the Robot and Team Smol, I can be a goblin merc sent by Deneith, or something. If you'd prefer to be a non-warforged, then I'll go with a warforged scout (smol warforged). Alternatively, probably smol warforged and normal warforged are different enough that we could both be 'forged without it being too weird.

I think we can have another non-smol member without ruining the theme, but the warforged should be taller than the non-smol member and at some point non-smol member needs to piggyback ride on the warforged. Sorry, I can't change the rules, just make them on ephemeral whims.

I will refer to that as Indiana Gnomes.

Hmm, we have seen Jokers that were built as Instruments Of War, but not Stevens, so far. Is that a thing a StevenChainsaw could be? I think the idea sounds neat.

StevenChainsaws so far decline to come in artificial. (They also decline to come in smol, again so far.)

If whoever ends up playing the warforged is agreeable, perhaps my StevenChainsaw (who needs a name - have I already asked about character naming patterns?) could be previously acquainted with them, and that way it would be less of a break from the Robot and Team Smol theme if the non-smol non-robot member was closely affiliated with the robot?

That seems workable.

Another possibility is for it to be the StevenChainsaw and Team Smol, rather than the Robot and Team Smol, if your StevenChainsaw ends up sufficiently climbable.

In terms of the search for names, do you have a particular region of origin in mind? Tamien told me StevenChainsaws generally have parents who are very authoritarian noble-types. That seems like it would fit in with either one of the more undead-dominated areas (Karrnath, Aerenal), or the more religious ones (Thrane).

Stevens generally have parents who are authoritarian rich-or-noble-types; Chainsaws generally have parents who are neglectful or outright absent; the template-wide parenting situation of StevenChainsaws is largely undefined, but I do have one fairly well-defined example to draw from even if it might end up just one attractor cluster of many. Where can I go where humans are in the local majority and there's an opportunity for a recent ancestor to have ditched rich/noble connections to have a quiet unassuming life with a less prosperous partner?

...*brain goes click*

Actually, if one of this StevenChainsaw's parents was a noble who ran away with a commoner and the commoner was dragonmarked and possibly hiding from their attached House, this fits Sefton's parenting backstory of "noble girl who ran away with an apostate mage" really really well, and is a pretty good setup for the StevenChainsaw to turn out with an aberrant dragonmark. *checks dragonmarks list* If daddy wasn't aberrant himself, he was probably Cannith.
