Since Revan is already from Star Wars, and since Yvette can show up as Revan's sister, she requests to be during the same point in history and also to be related. She's Vague Nobility from an out of the way planet; Revan was a Force-sensitive bastard and so got given up to the jedi. There is an Yvette planned to be from Star Wars, if Kappa and I ever get the attention span to do that thing.
Everything else is kind of not happening right now, I am, hilariously enough, too outrageously excited about all things Star Wars to put any of my templates into it on the fly. It is a weird problem that I have.

Revan's opinion of it depends highly on the people around them. If someone they care about likes Christmas, gosh how did this house mysteriously become so festive, it's a mystery. Similarly if people obviously don't like it, they won't push it. If there is a mix of the two the Revan would fight for a happy medium of celebrating the holiday but not pissing people off.
Yvette likes to keep a tiny festive tree by her desk while she obsessively works, and overall thinks the holiday is cute but doesn't buy into the consumerism thing. She overthinks the presents she buys.
Zevs adore Christmas. Festivities: everywhere. Tree: decorated so much it's kind of gaudy, actually. Presents: Zev will help wrap them, they need to be properly festive.
Adarin is kinda meh about it and finds the Christmas rush the most terrifying thing known to man. They don't get the holiday and would much rather celebrate by quietly spending time with loved ones. If they have a romantic interest (Bells) they will get awesome personalized likely-magic presents. ... Probably ages in advance. Because screw the Christmas rush.

By themselves they won't celebrate at all? Like, I am picturing their apartment where they live alone and don't receive visits and I don't think they would decorate under that description.Aestrix wrote:Revan's opinion of it depends highly on the people around them. Of course she does, my precious neurotic redhead.Aestrix wrote:Yvette likes to keep a tiny festive tree by her desk while she obsessively works, and overall thinks the holiday is cute but doesn't buy into the consumerism thing. She overthinks the presents she buys.
Is there a difference if they grow up with the holiday or not? I could see a Zev adopting it if they didn't, and I guess they won't be bothered about all those Terrible Childhood Memories of their mom being horrible.Aestrix wrote:Zevs adore Christmas. Once again, of course, my precious neurotic sometimes-goldenhead.Aestrix wrote:Adarin is kinda meh about it and finds the Christmas rush the most terrifying thing known to man. How about Nadias, Raes, Johans?

Revans are inclined to not decorate their living space if it's just them; they don't care very much about their immediate living space unless someone else regularly shares their immediate living space and has opinions about the subject.
Zevs will be against certain things about the holiday if they have Terrible Childhood Memories of their mom being horrible in a Christmasy way, but they won't hate the holiday entirely. They'll just adjust how they celebrate the holiday to avoid doing whatever occurred during Terrible Childhood Memories.
Nadia is one of those people that goes a bit overboard with Christmas lights. She sees them as a challenge, and will sync them to music and have them lighting up in dazzling patterns and have a massive, massive power bill of doom. She likes the concept of presents, as well, and likes both getting presents and giving them.
Rae is apathetic towards the holiday, but if given a Santa hat he would dutifully wear it.
Jowan keeps trying to bake during the holidays? And it never ends well. Burned cookies, rock cake, etc. He tries, poor baby, he tries so hard. He thinks it's a nice holiday and likes the time off, and worries about getting terrible presents for people, but he's a solid middle of the spectrum for how much he cares about it.

If Veron has kids he will be excessively festive for their sake, with the exception of telling them Santa's real. It doesn't sit well with him, to lie to his kids. Tree and presents and other associated goodies? Yep. Though often he is a single parent, so money's a bit tight there - he consciously saves up a lot and often goes without so he can get his kids good presents. Veron: good dad.
On his own, though, he's kinda meh about the holidays. When he's particularly grumpy (some kind of home situation that sucks) and has no children to Veron at, he is a decent candidate for Christmas Caroling, with various ghosts that drag him on various adventures to figure out the meaning of Christmas.

Re: Aestrix Ramblings and Q & A
What do Revans and Yvettes think of romantic relationships with each other if they are not siblings? If they are? If they are not siblings but know a bunch of alts, some of whom are?
Re: Aestrix Ramblings and Q & A
For shits and giggles you will get direct dialogue:
Siblings:
Yvette: "Um?"
Revan: "I mean, the reason incest is taboo is inbreeding, if we avoided that -"
Yvette: "Nope, nope, nope nope nope nope. Sorry, nope."
Revan: *cracks up* "Yeah, agreed."
Not-Siblings:
Revan: "So..."
Yvette: "You're really not my type, sorry."
Revan: "Yeah, I was about to say the same thing."
Yvette: "I mean you're perfectly nice and I want to keep you in my life, but -"
Revan: "- we just don't seem suited for it with each other."
(In other words, they drift into like brother and sister pretty naturally and find it weird to upset that.)
If they see alts of themselves dating (a thing that will likely not happen):
Yvette: "What."
Revan: "I agree. What."
Yvette: "They're."
Revan: "I mean they are surprisingly cute?"
Yvette: "..."
Revan: "Yeah I'm weirded out too but there's nothing I can do about that so."
Yvette: "Yeah."
Edit: Also I'm just genuinely not inclined to put them into that situation, if they ever found out about me they would resent it, and I do not want even one Yvette and Revan pair pissed at me, let alone the more this scenario would require.

Re: Aestrix Ramblings and Q & A
I did not expect the siblings to at all be interested, but thought I’d ask. I’m a bit surprised they aren’t interested when unrelated.
What I was more wondering with the last question was whether two unrelated ones might get together if the knew they came in sibling, but since they wouldn’t anyway the answer is pretty clearly no.
What is the relevant difference between putting these characters in a relationship and, say, necklacing Spring to Prime or getting the original Yvette captured by the government? All of them seem like things the characters would resent (Prime in particular was able to hypothesize your existence to become pissed at you), and I don’t think it can just be what helps the plot.
