The necklace won't attempt to layer itself on top of a mate bond that has company, I think.

Do you ever plan to write a poly mate bond?

In most cases, mating does not and cannot mirror imprinting (see: Brady). What about if the wolf quits before the imprint turns, or even quits before themselves turning? I expect it would not always mirror the imprint bond, but would it have at least a tendency to do so? I originally thought of these questions in regards to Shawn and Gren, before it became clear she could turn into a half vampire.

What is the minimum fraction of vampire required to form a mate bond?

I don't plan to write a poly mate bond. Kappa did once though.

I don't remember if I have ruled on quit wolves and mate bonds. A turned ex-wolf with an imprint... uh... yeah, probably has an overwhelming matching tendency whenever this is remotely feasible because of how much imprinted wolves are remade in a way suited to their imprints. Would not override the rules that you can't mate to prepubescent children or anyone with an incompatible orientation, though.

100%.

Is this poly mate bond somewhere available for public consumption?

So there is a potential happily ever after* for many** imprinted wolves even without coins, Lina, technological immortality, or anything like that. It’s probably even one which would be discovered within a generation or two, given that the ageing humans would be encouraged to turn. I had previously thought that wolves who romantically (as opposed to platonically, as has been seen a few times) imprinted on humans would almost inevitably give up their immortality.

* Or at least for longer than about a century
** Obviously does not apply in cases of incompatible sexual orientation, reluctant imprint, etc.

It is not, but you could induce me to write another one by making a suggestion about which purples should form a Twivamp triad. Assuming Alicorn is willing to provide a sandbox Golden Empire for the purpose.

I remember musing on how my characters would react to being on either side of a mate bond/imprint a while go. Feel free to ask questions about that or the original purpose of the thread in regards to my characters.

So, there is The Necklace from that Incandescence world that gives you mind protection but the person can now acquire a matebond.

How much motivation they would require to touch The Necklace?
Sorry for my bad english

Steel would probably do it on her own. Gren would take some convincing. Nick won't touch the thing with a fifty-foot pole.

I think the most interesting ones might be JokerSherlock, Sandy (or maybe StevenChainsaw), and either Tony, Miles, or Libby. I’m not sure about the third because a) I don’t think Tony could be in a mate bond without the corresponding full Sherlock, and b) I’m not sure if Miles could be in the same triad as a JokerSherlock. I suggest these because we don’t see them in romantic situations as often as the others and because I’m curious how a JokerSherlock and a Sandy or part-Sandy would get along.

Nick won’t touch the necklace because he doesn’t want it affecting his mind, presumably. Could he be induced to touch it if there were potentially worse mind-affecting magic going on? Examples (some of which I highly doubt would be strong enough) might be the knife, mind-affecting love magic which did not at least try for compatibility, or somebody randomly going around disconnecting people’s ability to taste meat.

-------

Is there any chance that a Bell and a Kanim will be in the same world and the Bell will be both willing and able to alter their sexual orientation in the relevant way?
