I have learned how to give access to Bitbucket, so no one needs to bother PDV, I can do it.
I will put worlds and icon attribution on my feature list! Also template nicknames on the template page and "see someone else's galleries/icons" is now on the UI list.

Re: Glowfic platform specification?
Okay, so I've been thinking some more about the worlds thing, and I think I've found out something interesting about the way I organize characters on glowficsite and how it differs from the way I organize characters in other contexts, and I think this has site design implications which I will attempt to articulate.
Let's take Miles as an example.
So there's the Miles template, which is an overall grouping of all the Mileses that there are. Then there are obvious subgroupings, like how Nexus and Superluminal and the various Nexus-verse sandboxes all involve basically the same Miles even though the Superluminal one is a unicorn and the Effulgence-Nexus one is married to a haut-lady and the Many Worlds Forum one is accumulating vast quantities of interesting magic. And the subgroupings sometimes cross templates - like, there is an "Earth, Thule, Rosario Dawson" set of Koskin triplets, and an "Earth, Thule, Sebastian Stan" set of Koskin triplets, and one set is named Solvei and Ravni and Eithrun and has parents named Stasya and Claude, and one set is named Sindri and Ravni and Arinn and has parents named Anastas and probably Cordelia. And then sometimes Ravni is actually Solvei's nameless clone from two centuries later, but her Solvei is still essentially an Earth-Thule-RD Solvei.
It would be really convenient from an authorial perspective if I didn't have to make new fully separate duplicates of the Nexusverse Miles every time I took him to a new continuity, but could still differentiate Leaf from Effulgence-Nexus-Miles from Superluminal-Miles without the template listing getting to be a mile (heh) long. I'm not sure exactly what I'd be looking for there, but it really seems like there needs to be a way to say "okay, at the intersection of this template with this world and continuity, there is yet another instance of the {Nexusverse Miles} template-subgrouping, and these are his individual details but he has the same icon pool as every other {Nexusverse Miles} and they collectively appear only once in this master list of Mileses". There'll be some situations where I want subgrouping instances to be listed separately, but some where it will make more sense to collapse them.
I dunno, am I making sense here?

I haven't tried actually writing anything yet. Would there be a problem if there was a continuity called "testing" just for the purpose of people poking at the relevant features?
Relevantly: It is necessary for a character to have a screen name to post?
You are making sense to me.I dunno, am I making sense here?
A related feature could allow characters in different stages fo their live. Mostly obviously age, but a character could undergo any sort of change while being the same character (turning into a vampire, werewolf, for example)
Sorry for my bad english

Nope, made one, go for it.Bluelantern wrote:Would there be a problem if there was a continuity called "testing" just for the purpose of people poking at the relevant features?
Nope! And you can always just post as yourself. (If people feel strongly about having their community/collective names available to appear for this I'll have to look at it, right now it would just display e.g. "Alicorn" not "alicornucopia")Bluelantern wrote:Relevantly: It is necessary for a character to have a screen name to post?

~Feature Request~: It would be pretty awesome if threads being listed in places like continuities and the Recently Updated page showed not just when but who the last reply was, for purposes of like, being able to tell more clearly what the state of the thread is without opening it and checking. Last author to post, last character to post, whatever.
Re: Glowfic platform
Is there a concept of listing threads in which it's your turn to post?

Re: Glowfic platform
That would be a pretty awesome concept, and it seems like it would be pretty easy to do a rough approximation of - "list all threads in which you have participated but are not the latest commenter, ordered from most to least recently updated" - with further refinements available such as "have threads able to be marked complete by their authors". Actually, a way to mark threads complete sounds like an awesome idea even on its own. I bet readers would be thrilled.

Re: Glowfic platform
huh... is there a way to mark a certain point of a thread as read? like you could mark "post 82" as the last one you read from thread X?
edit:
I created a spam thread so we can test multiple page features https://vast-journey-9935.herokuapp.com/posts/11

I would be thrilled by a way to mark threads complete, even separate from this site. Could you add a Complete or Status: Complete tag to the glowfic Dreamwidth community?
